Finally a new cd worth owning...
« on: November 01, 2002, 05:20:25 AM »
Music now\'a\'days sucks, but there is finally a reason to buy a new cd.

Tori Amos -Scarlet\'s Walk

So far, I\'ve only listened to it twice, but the main attraction for the cd is \'A Sorta Fairytale\' which is a lot like stuff from her \'To Venus and Back cd.

Awesome cd.

Ewww.. Tori Amos?

I don\'t see how you can call that good music.. but whatever floats yer boat I guess. I say go down to the record store and pick up Jack Johnson\'s Brushfire Fairytales or Keller Williams\'s Breath. I just hope the rest of the album isn\'t as butchered as the radio version of Flake. It\'s like.. way too sterile. The best version I\'ve heard so far is the one he played at Bonnarro Fest with Ben Harper on the slide.

Bah, Nirvana\'s greatest hits CD came out recently. If thats not worth owning then I don\'t know what is.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Ha...I didn\'t think anyone else listened to Cranberries.  The newest one, wake up and smell the coffee, isn\'t really all that great in my opinion.  I have every one of their albums, and this one just isn\'t up to par.  Maybe 2-3 good songs.  And even they are not great songs.  Maybe you\'ll feel differently...let me know what you think.

Tori Amos isn\'t dance music Kopking.

She\'s alright I suppose, I haven\'t heard anything from her in years, last song of hers I remember is "Cornflake Girl" from about 9 years ago.

The Nirvana is great, espically "You Know You\'re Right". Great song.

Poe rocks. ;)

And Too Venus and Back wasn\'t all that - but it was still a good cd.

Yeah, POE is pretty good. I\'ve only heard a few of their songs tho. Seems like anyone worth a crap from the Apocalypse (PSX game) soundtrack has gone on to become pretty popular. (POE, SOAD) Cep\'t for SNOT.. I thought they were pretty good, but they only had a chance to cut one album before the lead singer died and they split up.

I recently started going backwards to find some good music that I haven\'t listened to in a while. Some of you (judging by some of the stuff that was listed) should check out an album called "frosting on the beater" by The Posies. (yeah, it\'s a faggy name, but they rock!) Basic melodic guitar rock ala dinosaur jr, teenage fanclub, etc. Or find some songs from that album, like "flavor of the month" or "solar sister". Good shit.
