Sooners LOSE!

I wouldn\'t be so sure. Say WSU in fact does lose to USC, well, Ohio State is going to lose out bigtime on the quality opponent factor. That win alone is the only thing holding them up. And say, Texas wins out, OU wins out, well, Texas looks that much better. Again, don\'t forget about our beloved Sooners. In no way are they out.

Hell, they beat Texas, and Texas will be #3 or #4 in the BCS. Ohio State will go up in the polls, but so will Miami. That 1.5 poll average just went to 2. Of course, they get hurt bigtime by the Va Tech loss. That right there is another thing that makes the BCS shit, having to depend on other teams to keep your rating high.

So, on the contrary, there is actually a great chance that Texas could jump OSU. Besides, Come November 30th, OSU won\'t have to worry about staying at #1 or #2, becuase they will join the pool of 1 loss teams =D

What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

How will Texas jump OSU?  As long as OSU doesn\'t have a loss, they have 1 point on em there, at least 1 from the polls, and at least one from the computer rankings.  There is no chance that UT passes em.

1 point. Whoop-de-doo. Rankings aren\'t that bad, and besides, Ohio State still has to play Michigan, and they\'ll choke.

Then again, Texas has to play A&M. So yeah, Go Sooners.

How easily people forget about Washington State.  They could just as easily go if the Buckeyes lose.

BCS Rankings:

1. Ohio State
2. Miami
3. Washington State
4. Oklahoma
5. Texas

But what strikes me about this - 8. Iowa

And I agree whole-heartedly with Trev Alberts on this, Iowa is the best team in the Big 10. This dilemma, however, will stick out, simply becuase the Big 10 is too lazy to get a 12th team. Can\'t play the "we want to stay the Big 10" card, because they added Penn State. The only real ethical thing to do would be to add Notre Dame to the conference -- hell, they play a lot of the teams in the conference anyway, so why not?

Iowa\'s only loss was a heartbreaker to Iowa State, when they had a 24-7 lead at halftime, and blew it. Too bad, had they stayed undefeated, who knows? Would we be looking at a whole other controversey all-together?

No, nobody forgot the WSU OSU game, but I do have a question -- is that a home and home series? I\'d like to see Ohio State go into Pullman next year and see how that\'d turn out. Oh well, the Ohio State AD probably said that he would only play a home game, and not travel into a tough environment -- he did the same thing to Nebraska. You wonder why Nebraska and Ohio State never play, well, they\'ve been trying (at least Byrne has) to work out a deal for about the past 9 years. Cryin\' shame, really.

Trev, anyone who takes his word seriously needs to really be evaluated.  Most consider him at best a worthless sports analyst.  Nor am I saying this because he doesn\'t like my Buckeyes, most people see it this way.

Oh, and anybody watching Jeopardy right now?  Trebek is wearing Clarett\'s jersey. :)

Sienfeld for me. I\'d rather watch Jerry go to a Mets game than watch a Canadian wear an Ohio State Jersey =P

Yes, Trev most certainly is a worthless sports analyst. Just like Charlie Ward is a worthless basketball player...but Trev kept him under wraps in 1993, so it all evens out...right?

And yeah, you\'re probably saying that because he doesn\'t like the Buckeyes, and rightly so. He\'s from Iowa, so he\'s actually quite biased for another reason :)

But he is right, they\'re not the best in the Big 10, simply because they can\'t prove it. Brad Banks would run circles around that vaunted OSU defense, who held PURDUE TO 6 POINTS. IMPRESSIVE. Considering Purdue got into FG territory 2 more times than that....stupid play calling.

Anyway, uhm. Go Michigan. The Champions of the West, or as Squaremarker now knows because I made better lyrics, the Champions of the World, and yes, "World" means "Ohio State". And yes, we all remember 1995 and 1996, right?

And as this point, I am rambling. Time for some asprin.

What a croc of shit, asking a computer to decide who the best team in football is.Complete bullshit.Do you think if they let a computer decide who went to the superbowl at the end of last year the patriots would have been there?

If Miami had a harder schedule they would be in first but they don\'t.

Wouldn\'t matter to me if they were in first place,it\'s still a bunch of crap. These non-conference games are scheduled 4 years in advance. And even then they\'re usually 4 to 6 year home and away commitments. That means you\'re scheduling games against teams 8 to 10 years away.

Who would have thought 4 years ago that Florida would be barely better than vanderbilt?Who knew FSU would be only slightly better than that.

I\'m just saying there should be a playoff for college football. You see those goofball talking heads on ESPN and they say"yeah but if there were playoffs we would\'nt be having these great debates".Imagine that, having debates about what games would be great, instead of watching great games.

The playoffs would add less excitement to the normal season.  And even playoffs wouldn\'t always produce the best team.  Their is no good choice.

Allow me to make a one word comment to Bozco here.

bullshit

thanks...

May I push ahead?

Does anyone watch any bowl games?  I don\'t even watch the bowl game Florida is in unless it\'s for the National title.  They are 100% useless.

Regular season less exciting?  Are you nuts?  If only 8-12 teams make the playoffs it would be more exciting because the way it is now if you have 1 loss you are a goner.  It\'s just stupid.  This would give far more teams a reason to play rather than just trying to make the scouts and alumni happy.

Make it an 8 team playoff, with the teams decided by the polls.  There would still be a lot of importance to the regular season, since 1 loss teams could potentially not make it, and two loss ones probably would be out for sure.  That way, you can\'t be beaten out by a team that you never played, and never got the chance to prove that you\'re better than.  If there is a playoff system, and you don\'t win it all, it\'s your fault.  If a computer decides, then it may be the computer\'s fault.  Sure the playoffs may not produce the best team, but they do produce the team that deserves it the most.  That\'s what matters.

Yeah buddy.

Also it will make the Poullan Weed Eater bowl worth something.  I\'d watch all the bowl games if they were part of playoffs.  Ugh, even the notion of someone saying they don\'t need a playoff system is pure ignorance.

The only thing keeping the playoffs out is corporate greed and the BCS.
