codes gta vice city corrupt

Hello,

I\'ve played vice city and just for fun entered some cheats codes, played a mission, and safed this mission.
Now my load / safe option is corrupt!!!!!
for everybody;s interest!
DON\'T SAFE YOUR GAME WITH CHEATS ON! THIS WILL RUIN YOUR LOAD/SAFE MODE FOR THIS GAME!!
I\'VE LOST EVERY MISSION AND HAD TO START ALL OVER AGAIN! (I DONT CARE  ABOUT THAT BECAUSE IT\'S A HELL OF A GAME!!!

I turned on the dodo cheat at one point to see what happened but then turned it off, it now gives me a warning every time I save that there are cheats activated. Am I screwed?

Whatever you do, don\'t use Gameshark.  I hear there\'s a glitch going around that screws up everything you\'ve done.

I was tempted to try a few codes after I\'d completed it. Don\'t think I will now, cheers peeps.

I was playing with some cheats this morning. Of course I didn\'t save but when I loaded the game later, played it and was going to save it warned me not to save  because I had entered cheats. But that had been much earlier and I hadn\'t saved that game!

had same prob with gta3, i never tried any cheats

Ok are we talking about Gameshark cheats or just codes you enter during the game via the controller?

I have used controller cheats for weapons, heath and armour  and the savegames are fine, even with a warning message before saving. I have heard instances of other controller codes corrupting savegames though. If you must cheat just uses the ones mentioned above and you will be fine.

I wish there was a cheat for $$$$ that wouldn\'t screw up the game.  That is the only one I would really be interested in.

think he means for ones like crowd go crazy etc, as in gta3 u cant turn them off once u done them,

A money cheat is less important as you get further into the game because you make money from your properties. I make $7000 from the movie studio and $5000 from the vercetti estate.

Cheaters never prosper.

I\'ve been reading that all the controller cheats really do is
change your rating (the "Enforcer" or "Hitman" description
at the top of your stats) to "Embarrassing" and give you negative
numbers.
And, it might move some of the secret packages.

Anyone know the "truth" on this? I was planning on beating
the game w/o cheats, then using some cheats to do the other
things that are left...but now maybe I won\'t.

Shouldn\'t really matter, I guess, by the end of this game you
get a ton of $$$, and I can now buy nearly every gun...
