Yes, I am reviving an old topic, but it has to stay alive until Saturday, so I can openly mock all Ohio State fans once Michigan rolls over them ;)

And Columbus isn\'t a hard place to play in?

Michigan VS Ohio St. Good game, I say it comes close to a score of about 21-17 Ohio.

If the Big Ten actually had a Championship game, OSU would be knocked off the #2 BCS throne and Washington State would move up to play Miami in the Fiesta Bowl...barring a disaster.  Iowa is the best team in the Big 10, but they won\'t get a chance to prove it, hell they\'re 7th in the BCS.

That\'s because the BCS is complete crap.  It has screwed up for two years in a row, and there\'s no way there won\'t be controversy if OSU or Miami lose this year.  We need to decide the title game by the polls, or better yet, get a playoffs system going.

Unfocused, its easy to say that because you don\'t have to back it up.  Since Iowa never plays them you can throw that card out there over and over.

I said the same thing about Nebraska last year after all of the controversey unfolded. Look what happened.

Tony, I never said Columbus wasn\'t hard place to play. Nice job of putting words in my mouth there, bud. Sure, it might be a hard place to play, but when it comes to Michigan, that hasn\'t been true at all.

Yes, we can\'t prove that Iowa\'s better, but we can compare. Ohio State, with Lydell Ross, had to have a strong 4th quarter to beat Northwestern. Iowa Beat Northwestern 63-21, and didn\'t score in the 4th quarter.

Another little stat, as much as we LOVE the lovefest with Maurice Clarett, I would like to mention that Iowa\'s Top back has rushed for more yards than Maurice Clarett. Now, you can bitch about the fact that Clarett was injured. Would you like to know WHY he got injured? Because quite frankly boys and girls, HE\'S NOT READY. You can say that all of the close games that OSU has played in, they didn\'t have Clarett. Bullshit. Half of those close games, he was in, and when he wasn\'t, he was nursing his sore shoulder, praying that he was still in High School, not getting touched.

Back to Chemistry Homework. See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

First of all James, I wasn\'t putting words into your mouth.  I was just pointing out that if you can make that point in one situation, you can apply it to this one to.  The fact is, past Ohio St. teams have had problems with past Michigan teams.  Well guess what?  These aren\'t the Ohio St. and Michigan teams of 95 and 96.  The fact is that Ohio St. beat Michigan at Michigan last year.  Since then, Ohio St. has clearly gotten better.  Michigan hasn\'t.  They have the same number of loses they had going into the Ohio St. game last year.  Stuff may have happened in the past, but that\'s done and over with.  These are different players, these are different teams, and you can\'t just assume that the same things will apply this time around.

And who gives a shit how much people won games by?  Ohio St. has played tougher teams, and they haven\'t lost.  Iowa has lost.  There is a reason why margin of victory was taken out of the BCS.  A win is a win.

No, there ISN\'T a reason why margin of vicotry was taken out of the forumula -- it\'s bullshit. It doesn\'t matter if you beat a tough team like Michigan in their house by 3, or, say, 22, like Iowa did earlier in the year.

This Michigan team is much better than those \'95 and \'96 teams, just take a look at their records. They had growing to do in those years, and they actually built off that \'96 win against OSU, and won the national title...and beat OSU the next year in the process :)

Of course Clarett is nursing that shoulder.  He had a bad injury that won\'t be healed till next season.  Say its because he\'s a freshman and what not, but we all know if he played 100% all year no running back would have compared to him in stats.

And Clarett wasn\'t 100% in half of the close games they played in.  Have you even been watching the Buckeyes?

No Bozco, I just bitch about them and all of their close games all the time, but I don\'t watch a damn play *rolls eyes*

Next year? He claims that he\'s 100% going into Saturday, and he was borderline to play against Illinois, and probably could have. I still think that Lydell Ross should be the starter, simply because he has more seniority, and probably could have held up the 13 game season better, but then again, he got injured, too.

I\'m not saying Clarett is a bad running back, far from it, I\'m just saying that some of this hype is a bit, oh, undeserved. Hell, he hasn\'t even broken the Ohio State Freshman rushing record set by Robert Smith in 1990. Did Smith get as much hype as Clarett is now? Didn\'t think so.

Clarett was on pace to do amazing things so of course he was hyped up.  Hell, he\'s a freshman that can tear through any defense when 100%.

There have been freshman before him that have done much better. Overhyped, in my opinion. Not yours of course, Just like you think Eddie George deserved the Heisman :-P

If I had my choice of Ahman Green as a Freshman or Maurice Clarett as a Freshman, you know who\'d I\'d take :)

If you mix our opinions you would get a happy median that is about right. :)
