The Ring

OMFG, I just got home from seeing the movie "The Ring".  Not only did it freak me out, some of the scenes are just flat out disturbing.  I\'ve been waiting a long time for a movie that would actually "scare" me, not in the sense that I\'m afraid of the dark, but rather it makes me wonder.  TV static will never be the same.  I\'ve never seen a movie explain the oditties of the movie so well, ever so much to disturb me greatly.  Viewer discretion is extremely advised.

I think I\'ve come to realize that this movie didn\'t scare me because I didn\'t like the characters and I didn\'t care what happened to them.  Also, the little girl wasn\'t scary enough.  It should have been a little boy like Damien, then it would have been more scary.

I\'m sure theomen agrees with me.  :p

I was on my way home from watching it and was disgustingly close to getting into an accident.  The only reason I didn\'t is because I had gotten a carwash earlier.  After that I got a call... it was my friend.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  But like 15mins into the conversation when I finally got home the phone started distorting and I could hear her very little.. then this guy\'s voice came in clear as ever and he started talking to me.  His voice sounded machine warped.  Scary shit.  Only reason I didn\'t freak out I think is because of the wake up call I got driving.

How did getting a car wash prevent you from getting into an accident? Clean windsheild or what?

You can laugh at me if you want but this was almost heart stopping.  The reason my car wash saved me is as follows..

Me and two friends of mine with civic si\'s had been racing on the grand central parkway (a highway in ny) and messing around.  Nothing more then a little aggressive driving, nothing TOO serious.  When we got to the Belt Parkway we took it up a notch having little \'speed test\' and such.  Again nothing too serious. only reaching speeds of 95 or so.

Then when my exit came nearer, I let them go and dropped back.  It\'s one of those exits that has it\'s own lane so I got all the way to the right lane to get off.  It was pitch black and no other cars were around, it was 3am.  I seen a cloud of dust in front of me as I was doing ~70 on the exit lane.  I was going to go through it but thought about it and decided not to because I didn\'t want my car being dirty.  As I got close to it, I noticed that the dust was in fact smoke coming from a wrecked car with no lights whatsoever and the door open.  I swurved to the left to avoid it, having my mirror comming within inches of his open door.  I remember looking inside and seeing someone crouched over.  It all happened too quick.  I called the police and notified them.

When I got off the exit there was a 7car pileup right in front of me.  I\'m not used to such shit.
