The GN in question might be a GNX. Weren\'t they released in \'87 or \'88? Only downside to Grand Nationals is that they\'re all automatics, I believe. With that much torque, I\'d like to be able to have a little more control over the engine.

As for beating American Sports cars, that may be true in the 1/4 mile. It\'s hard to beat the American torque monsters. But most great races aren\'t in the straight 1/4 mile. The road course requires more skill, better tuned suspsension, requires better aerodynamics, yada yada yada.

Anyway....let this be a warning. Sun Tsu\'s Art of War states "Know your enemy" , "Choose your battles wisely" , and "To attack an enemy greater than you, choose a terrain that tilts the battle in your favor".

In my case, the snow, rain, dirt AND twisties!

So, just coz some guy with a Yugo is revving his engine at you, listen closely. Is that a stock engine? Or something more? "Know your enemy."

I\'m talking about in a race. Quality also is pretty good with US cars. We had a Mercury Sable for over 10 years, like 115000-130000 miles and didn\'t have a problem (until something went wrong that is supposedly fixable). I don\'t look at elegance when I look for a car. That actually repels me. I like a sporty car. That\'s why I\'m not a big fan of Mercedes cars. Too luxerious for me (except the more stock ones). Thats why a lot of American sports cars win Lemans and other endurance races. But then there\'s the rivalry between Corvette and Viper, two top American race cars. I\'m talking about two stock cars, American Camaro vs. a Honda Civic. Which would get spanked? But a Camaro vs. a RX-7. That would be pretty close but Camaro would probably win. Its a bit faster. But a Camaro vs. a UK (I think) Lamborgini, any American stock sports car would get bent over and raped.

Whatever, points still the same. If a Lamborgini and a Camaro or Mustang were to drag down a highway, the Camaro or Mustang would get raped. But they aren\'t in the same class so.....

[/b]Well, I wasn\'t talking about how long it\'ll last. I was talking about build quality, interior etc., a place where American cars usually ends up last - even on more expensive cars. They\'re a bit notorius for that outside the US. No disrespect, it\'s just how it is.

I think he was talking about the GTS catagory of LeMans where Viper owns. If not Viper, then it\'s the C5-R\'s.

Chevy and Chrysler has deeper pockets than the other GTS team. Ferrari spends most of its money on the LMP cars.

But I prefer GTS. Coz you\'ll never see an LMP race car on public roads.

They are MAINLY SR class race cars. However, Viper didnt\' enter the scene until like 96, 97 but they always won in their class. I wasn\'t talking about the whole race because the SR and SRII cars always win because of their design. But now Viper (in their class) are in a rivalry between Team Corvette which is fun to watch them race

If you read my first post, I said that a stock Camaro would probably beat out a suped up Civic

Camaro SS? Again, I\'ve seen 12 second Civics before that\'s barely street legal. It all depends on the amount of work done to the modifed car.

And if you have ever read anything I have posted about modded 4bangers, than you will know it isnt that hard to beat a stock camaro.
