That would be a very poor study. Take me for example. In relaxed enviorments, Im rather ghetto-ish in my typing or talking. IN the business world or dealing with my contacts pertaining to the business, I am quite "proper". There is a time and place for everything and what one listens to or watches is a poor excuse as to how they act, speak, and type.

IMO, anything that can not be danced to or sung along with is not music. That covers all hard rock and metal. Metal is justs organized noise.

Thats funny because rock can be traced back to music that you would consider comparable to "garbage lids clanging".

Still the fact of the matter is that you said Rap and techno are not music because they don\'t use instruments. I said that their are rap groups that do use live bands so that goes against your statement. If your favorite rock band recorded all of their music in the studio and then went on stage and performed the vocals over the recording does that mean it is no longer music?

I think it\'s a personal thing,depends on who\'s listening as to what music is.Don\'t get me wrong I\'m not saying what I see as music everyone else should,I\'m just saying in my opinion music is a mix of instruments and vocals.Not a computer and 40 000 pre recorded tracks,Even 5 year old kids can make "songs" with the playstation game Music. But they aren\'t musicians.

I totally agree about the personal thing. It just that a lot of producers are using real instruments in production. Thats why when most rappers perform live its no problem to get a live band to perform the background music.

If you have time you should download some tracks from "The Roots" just to get a sample of accompanied rap that doesn\'t get much play on the radio. You might not like it; but its still cool to hear it. Now what I mean?
