You\'ve already been in once to find out what it was about. What did you need to come back in for?

Yeah, we take the piss out of each other from time to time, but when an outside force tries to stifle the passion that is football, the call is given to rally round.

Result - Hibernian 3 Motherwell 1
23 Nov 2002 19:47

We took the lead two minutes into the second period through Ferguson, then Sengewald was red carded 10 minutes later. This was crucial as this allowed Paatelainen the space denied by Sengewald, he scored the equaliser before setting up McManus for the winner.

Then the game exploded in the dying minutes, with Pearson red carded for a second yellow. This sparked a brawl involving the majority of the players. The result was that ref McDonald red carded Partridge and Brebner.

Hibs were awarded a penatly with seconds to go which O\'Neill converted to make the final score 3-1 to the home side.

Terry Butcher sadi that this was another eventful game involving Motherwell! He felt that we started well in the second half and were playing some decent football when we got the goal.

It was a bit of madness as Danny got himself sent off and Paatelainen got the pace and exploited it. But even at that we were making chances when it was 10 v 11

He aslo felt that the ref was right with the sendings off as our players made teh decisions easy for him. We caused our own donwfall with the red cards. Its not good to Motherwell having these three players sitting in the Stand at Celtic Park next week!

Williamson – Hibs started game well, and put Motherwell on the back foot and forced a flurry of corners but couldn’t convert the chances. But we worked hard and I felt that the goal came against the run of play.

He had no idea what Brebner had been sent off for and couldn’t comment on the incident, and did say that this was type of incident that we should not make light off in the game.
