All these problems are well documented.  The top one (#1) is most famous... no matter what numbers you use, you end up with 1089.

Example:

- Write down three different numbers between 1 to 9 on a piece of paper.  E.g. 128
- Reverse these numbers (821)
- Subtract the smaller number from the larger one (821-128= 693)
- Reverse the answer (396)
- Add the answer and the reversed answer (693+ 396= 1089).

- The trick is that the answer will always be 1089.
