« on: December 10, 2002, 11:31:10 AM »
Here\'s a link to a whole article about the upcoming FFX-2 title.  It\'s an article with Motomu Toriyama, the new director of the FF series.

Some Images:

I just came across the interview, haven\'t really read through all of it, but yeah..  here it is.  There\'s more images there too.

Boy, I can\'t wait. :bounce:

Those images are pretty small, it\'s too bad, too, cause I would like to see if they\'ve changed the in-game graphics at all....  Heh, I hope the ending is happier than last time...

Fatal, the graphics have been improved.. markedly.  Flowing hair and clothes, more detailed characters etc. etc.

i stole this name

Square has revealed the third main character in Final Fantasy X-2, her name is Pine, a boyish character who uses a blade as weapon, although she is not Al Bhed but she can speak the language. It is confirmed that the classic Active Time Battle system will return to the game, but there will be a number of enhancements to make the battles more challenging, such as multiple characters can chain their attacks in a combo. A new Dress Up System is also added to the game, you can use "dress spheres" to switch to different costumes in battle, which in turns give you access to different job classes as well. When you engage in a battle, characters with dress sphere will change their outfits and job classes accordingly, and return to their original forms after the battle ended.

no, i dont mean an improved battle system, i mean the classic one *very depressed ff has fallen off its rails*. did u guyz see the ff11 vids? its like morrowind! i\'m not sayiong morrowind is bad, but its just not ff....i suppose they ran out of ideas, not that final fantasy 10-2 is\'nt cheesy enough, couldn\'t they have given it a name instead of 2?

I was referring more towards the fact that it is using Active Turn Based again.  Which is the classic one.

Hey, sphere hunting is fun! I\'vwe no problem with FFX battle system and it\'s about 100 times better than that crap FF8 with it\'s "guardian" and "junction" crap.

I loved the junctioning in FF8.I cant disagree with the guardian forces though.Too much use for them, too repetitive and took ages for each GF to finish.

You didn\'t like being able to fully control your summon monsters in this game? The new strategic battle system?...

FFX took this series in the direction it needed to go. There hasn\'t been this big of a change since ATB was first introduced.

By the time you get enough decent spells to boost your characters stats, GF summoning was not needed... S\'all about Squall\'s Renzoukuken, and Zell\'s Armaggeddon Fist. Only GFs I can remember being useful later on in the game are Diablos(Much earlier), Doomtrain(Status effects, most useful being Meltdown), and Eden(Breaks the damage limit).

this one should be good, although I\'m still waiting for my FFVII remake!  Perhaps that\'s going to be for PS3 :D
