no more WWE Down Under
« on: December 10, 2002, 07:33:33 PM »
here is a small article:

"Dear Daniel,

Unfortunately, it is true. We are in the same boat as Fox8 was with Smackdown. However, we are indeed in negotiations with NWA: TNA at the moment and hope to have it confirmed this week.

All the best,

Main Event Television"

- Reader Jason Evans sent this in:

By Jason Evans

Hey guys, I just received a reply from Australian pay per view provider Main
Event, after enquiring about the status of wrestling in Australia. As has
been documented, WWE PPV\'s will no longer be screening here in the new year.
There was a rumour going around that Main Event would pick up the rights to
TNA, and as you will read, that seems the likely case now. Here is an exerpt
-

"We are extremely close to an official agreement with TNA and should be able
to announce officially in the next few days.

Kind regards,
Main Event Television"

Thanks to a rajahwwf.com reader  for this.

TNA??? What channel is this??? I have never seen it before.

Even with the new Optus channels we get with FOX, I still have never seen TNA.

It\'s even hokier, in this case it stands for Total Non-stop Action!  But the joke is obviously TNA.

Anyway NWA: TNA is a weekly pay-per-view show.  The new ones air on Wednesdays for like ten bucks in the States.

You\'ll find guys like Road Dogg, Grandmaster Sexay, the Harris Bros, Vince Russo, Jeff Jarrett, Jerry Lynn and others on the program.

On the last episode Roddy Piper even came out and accused Russo of killing Owen Hart.  Which was tasteless.  So it\'s not exactly the best show, but they do have some great wrestlers in what they call the X-Division.

Like I said though, we don\'t have that channel.

We have Main Event, which is pay-per-view.
