For anyone saying the guitarists suck-you are so wrong.

Hmm...no, they do. My friend who\'s only been playing guitar for about a year or two can easily play anything from any of their songs.

thats the kind of music they play. but as guitarist and just messing around, they kick ass. People base their songs on how \'good\' they are, and they kick @ss.

Wow- isnt that amazing. So you must mean that since I can play any of Lars\'s Metallica songs on the drums, I must be as good as him? Hmm?

What an idiot....

just because your friend whos only been playin\' guitar a year can play thier songs doesnt mean they suck.

spudz makes a good point... Lars plays some of the most simple shit youll ever hear on the drums, but trust me he\'s an awesome drummer.

That\'s irrelevant to me. I judge a guitar player by how they play in their songs, not when they\'re just messing around. And judging from the guitaring in Slipknot\'s songs, they both suck. It takes a great guitarist to put great guitaring into a song.

I already dismissed that logic...It\'s the quality of the guitaring in the songs I was referring to.

Um, no....i got their dvd and it has both james and mick(the guitarists) messing around and, even though James seems to be better, they both kicked ass. Its just they dont have any spiffy solos in their songs to show their skill. But in slipknot, a solo, like metallica has, would seem kind of out of place.

Oh I definitely agree that a solo like something out of Metallica\'s book would be out of place in a Slipknot song but that\'s not necessarily a bad thing. It\'s often great for a band to try new things. It is how bands expand their talent and improve. But that\'s another topic.

The problem I have with Slipknot\'s guitarists is they play the same notes over and over and over again. This is a fact. There\'s no calling me names like a 5 year old on this one. Their they play the same riff repeatedly(Example, Heretic Anthem) and most of the time the riffs aren\'t very good to begin with(alot of beginning guitar players could just listen to it and play it exactly, that shouldn\'t normally happen). I never said this meant they were as good as that certain guitarist(people trying to put words in my mouth again, resulting in them putting their foot in their mouth). I was only pointing their lack of talent. There\'s no excuse for not playing good riffs if you\'re supposedly a great guitarist. Look at Tool. They don\'t have many solos but their riffs are far better than Slipknot\'s. We don\'t hear them messing around so why should that be brought into the equation?

Um...no. If you\'re going to insult me, then atleast back yourself up instead of looking like a complete fool. And can\'t you carry on a debate without insulting like Viper?
