What are your 3 favourite reading books?
« on: December 29, 2002, 07:42:21 AM »
Let\'s see if PSX2C members spend the time in books too. Apart from games and coins, I think one of my prominent hobbies is reading. So, what are your 3 favourite books of all time?

Mine:

1) The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follet
2) The Lord of the Rings, by JRRT
3) The False Pilgrims, by Nicholas Wilcox
Todas estas cosas se perderán en el tiempo como lágrimas en la lluvia.

- Anne of the Island- LM Montgomery
And though she be but little, she is fierce.

I am trying to find the english Lord of the rings but I can only find the book translated in greek. And usually translations lose some of the original\'s magic.

Damn, I\'ve read so much that I can hardly give you a top 3. :)

Oh well, here are three books that I liked a lot:

1. The Lord of the Rings (though it\'s technically a trilogy, Tolkien saw it as one book ;))
2. 1984
3. The Foundation series
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!
(thanks Chizzy!)

Hey folks, it\'s H.P. Lovecraft, not H.B.  I\'ve read a huge amount of Lovecraft, and I love it.  I tend to have very good memories of "The Whisperer in Darkness" and "The Shadow out of Time" and "The Shadow over Innsmouth."  I once ran a Lovecraft-style role playing game based on "The Whisperer..."  Sort of a modern version of that story, with many of the same elements.  It was pretty cool if I do say so.

Oh yeah, "At the Mountains of Madness" and "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" are two other favorites.  There\'s so much cool stuff there, and you can read it over and over and over...
