wtf are u smoking? Portis totally deserves the rookie of the year. And if shockey won, then he wouldve totally deserved rookie of the year. They both had great seasons, but it was up to some stats that you probably dont know about that put Portis in the lead. And for ur linemen comment, their rough, and they do do "iffy" things that have made them infamous. But as long as there is no yellow flag on the field, i see no problem what-so-ever on the wya they block. And shockwaves, iv agreed with every comment uv made so far, but u have to put into account that terrell owens had someone like jerry rice on his team while he was a rookie so that took a lot of his receptions from him.

In Owens rookies year, he played all 16 games, and started 10.  He had 35 receptions for 520 yards.

In Shockey\'s rookie year, he has played in 15 games, and started 13.  He had 74 receptions for 894 yards.

So in other words, comparing their rookie years, Shockey smokes Owens, despite the fact that Owens is a WR.  No one peaks in their rookie year.  As scary as it is, Shockey isn\'t close to peaking yet.  And this despite the fact that he\'ll be starting in the Pro Bowl in this, his rookie season.

Oh, and one thing you\'re misunderstanding about how I view Owens.  He can show off all he wants.  If he wants to sign a ball, great!  Be a cheerleader after a touchdown?  Why not.  And that thing he did in Dallas was one of the funnier things I\'ve ever seen in football.  That stuff is all good.  But when you\'re starting fights, that\'s just dirty.  There is a difference between showing off, and playing dirty.

Heh, I could have sworn that there was another pretty good wide receiver on the team at the time.  What was his name?  Oh, Mr. Rice!!

So?  It\'s not like there wasn\'t enough ball to go around.  Rice had 1254 yards in Owens\' rookie year.  Toomer had 1343 this year.  *shrug*

And Mr. Fujax, I read your post.  Thanks for agreeing.  The only reason I don\'t agree with Portis though is that you can really put any NFL quality RB into that Bronco\'s offense, and the way the system is over there, they\'d have a good year, by the numbers.  Davis did it, Gary did it, and Anderson did it.  Besides, which rookie made the pro bowl?  Which is the best at his position in his conference?  And which has changed his team\'s entire offense?  The answer is Shockey.  That\'s also the answer to the question: "Who should have been rookie of the year?"

Ok, *counts to ten*. You win, whatever.
A million insults and Stats that prove owens isn\'t the best doesn\'t cut it for me. But, whatever. 49ers ROCK!!

Yeah, Yeah Shockey rookie of the year, *smiles* all I know he isn\'t going to the superbowl this year.

stats are pretty important since they tell what the players performance is. And noone insulted u. Only time i saw it was when u insulted someone else and they retaliated back. And if ur saying a million insults to T.O., he deserves it.  And shockey wasnt rookie of the year so that comment made no sense. and niners arent gunna get to the superbowl either.

You are comparing a #1 WR in Toomer with no other big time WR on the team to a #1 WR LATE in his career on a team with a player like TO who they were trying to get into the system.  Just stupid using stats here.

Whatever, you win.  Just because...

wouldnt that prove shocks point? Cuz if toomer is a number one reciever, and shockey got the kinds of stats he got as a rookie(and a tight end), and owens was also a rookie with a number 1 reciever in jerry rice and TO got worse stats when he was a rookie than shockey did. Showing, shockey did better considering both had other number 1 recievers that the QB\'s were throwing to.
