That\'s pretty sad using expletives and cursing because someone doesn\'t agree with you, but to each their own.  Look, the Giants lost and Owens did not get tossed because although his hit was bad, but there is a rule for it alluding to yard gain for the opposite team, but physically striking another playing AFTER the play way over on the sidelines is just poor judgement and the guy got tossed for it.

It\'s obvious even the Giants didn\'t tolerate that crap when they tossed THEIR OWN player to the ground to stop him from starting anything.  Yes, sticking up for your team is one thing, but NFL players know their limits and that was obvious with their final actions.  Owens pushed it, sure, but right from the pre-game, we all knew this wasn\'t going to end pretty and that\'s that.  The second half the Niners dominated and to blame the whole game on those final few incidents is to ignore the whole 24 point defecit that the niners overcame with great play calling and great defense.

Hate Owens, that\'s cool, in fact, I partially agree that he was an ass there, but it\'s still just a game and hardly worth swearing at other members for especially since it\'s something that none of us really had any hand in.

Simple.  Owens went beyond talking trash.  Talking trash is fine, especially if you back it up.  He crossed a different line though.

How did he do anything more than the Giants players did?  I just don\'t get it.  Quit talking like a homer.  Look at the game like an unbiased viewer.

Owens is an asshole.  True.  But the Giants were just as dirty.  And stupid as hell too as Collinsworth pointed out over and over again.

First of all, I\'m wasn\'t talking as I was because someone disagreed.  I was talking like that anyway, and then he happened to disagree with me, and I continued talking like that.

Second, I am not defending what Shaun Williams did.  Not at all.  However, I think that what Owens did was worse.  He instigated it.  And what Shaun Williams did, while it was long after the play, was while stuff started by Owens was still going on.

Third, I\'m not blaming our losing solely on that play.  However, that was a part of it.  I am very much pissed off at a lot of things following that game, and the Giants defense is a very big part of that.

And if you look back at what happened, you\'ll see I wasn\'t swearing at any members, other than Fayded/Cory, who I know off these boards.  What I said to him had nothing to do with anything here.  As for LIC, I guess he just pressed me at the wrong time, and I reacted.  Did I react in the best way?  Probably not.  Do I have any regrets about it though?  No.  I was pissed off, and I will defend how I reacted.

In my first post after the game, I believe, I said I blame Shaun Williams for the loss.  I know that what he did was stupid.  I jsut think that Owens should have been tossed too.  What did he do?  He instigated fights on two straight plays.  There is no way around that.  There is no way he should have not been thrown out.

How do you instigate a fight?  Talking trash?  99% of trash talking is to get the opponent off his game.  To make him break.  To make him lash out and get 15.  Owens is pretty damn good at that.

Don\'t get me wrong, I don\'t give a shit about either of these teams and I don\'t mean to stand up for Owens, I\'m just trying to get you to realize that there are two sides to this coin.

Ok... time for my post here.... *clears throat*

NINERS OWNED THE GIANTS

The Giants deserved to lose. If you blow a 24 point lead that late in the game, you deserve to lose. It all came down to the momentum factor. The Niners surged unexpectedly and broke the game open and the Giants were just stunned. They pretty much flipped the tables and shoved it down the Giants throat. That game was f***ing amazing to say the least.

And yes, Niners > Giants. If Giants were so much better they wouldn\'t have blown such a ridiculous lead.

As for Terrell Owens... HE IS THE MAN. CAN YOU SAY TALENT?!! I CAN. He burned the Giants defense and left them dazed and with question marks floating above their heads. I don\'t care what you say, that guy is THE BEST WR IN THE NFL. Don\'t hate just because he can get arrogant.

Oh and also, Shockey = Owens. They are the exact same player, except Shockey goes ballistic if he catches like a 5 yard pass. They both are hot headed shit talkers. Except I\'d rather have a Terrell Owens on my team than a Jeremy Shockey.

I\'m glad I wasn\'t at 3com and got hit by that water that Shockey threw in the crowd, I would have jumped over the wall and kneed him in his balls.

The better team won. And this is the EXACT thing the Niners needed. WE FINALLY HAVE MOMENTUM, HOLY SHIT! We came into the playoffs like we started this game, sluggish. Now we have a foundation set and hopefully can snowball over the NFC and into the Superbowl.

Buccaneers are going the **** down.

And why hasn\'t this guy been brought up? He\'s the commander in chief here. Much props to Garcia for never, ever giving up.

The fact that you were talking like that at all, and then directed it towards other members it what bothers me.  Swearing is common place here, but telling members "#### you" and the like doesn\'t make it OK because you were pissed and that\'s that.  It\'s a game, no need for any of that at all.  Sure, you can be pissed, no one has a problem with that, but when you project it at other members, it does create a problem.

Being pissed is cool, but projecting it at others with cursing and the like is not ok and it\'s as simple as that.

It\'s a game.  Teams win and lose in a number of different ways, but that\'s life.  Sorry you\'re upset.

And how am I not saying there are?  I already told you, I think Shaun Williams is an idiot for what he did.  I just think that what Owens did to instigate the fight is just as bad.  If anything, you need to see it goes both ways.  You are trying to tell me Owens did nothing wrong, which is bullshit.  I\'m trying to tell you they both did something wrong.

I\'m not saying Owens did nothing wrong..  All I said was that Shockey did the sasme thing Owens did.  You were just all over Owens like he is some total asshole when all he is guilty of being is a talker.

And to tell you the truth, if anyone is going to talk, I think he certainly backed it up.  He freaking owned the Giants defense.  He could have said, "Hey Seahorn!  I\'m going to go up and run a post.  I\'ll probably catch the ball right over there."  Then proceed to go out and do just that.  Oh, and then get a 20 YAC.

And Vapor, this could be a damn good game.  Home field advantage will certainly play a factor.  Bucs stadium is a tough place to play.

I\'ll deal with things my way, you deal with things yours.  I was angry, I found myself here.  If someone doesn\'t want me reacting as I did, they don\'t push me when I\'m clearly upset.

And sure, it is just a game.  And maybe I overreacted.  Then again, maybe I just view the game a little differently than you.  Either way, how about you don\'t judge what I do.  What I said was to LIC.  If he has a problem with it...fine, I\'ll deal with it with him.  I don\'t need to deal with it with anyone else though.  If LIC has a problem, and wants to say something to me, then he can.  I can be PMed, and I have plenty of other contact methods clearly listed here.  If he wants to say something to me, I\'ll listen to it.  However, I don\'t need you getting on my case for it, and spitting one of your little life lessons my way.  I know what I did, I know how I reacted.  I\'m smart enough to know what happened.

Vid: I still disagree.  I guess I\'ll just leave it there, because neither of us are getting anything across to the other.

Vapor: Yeah, I\'ll deal with what you said on AIM, if you\'ll respond...

And once again, if LIC has a problem, I\'ll take it up with him.  He\'s a smart person, he can speak for himself.

Look, this is how it is.  I post on here what I would say to someone in real life.  I\'m not going to hold myself back for fear of offending someone on a message board.  If I\'d say it in real life, I\'ll say it here.  If I have to censor myself on things like that, them maybe this isn\'t the board for me.

I know what the rules are as far as mods and admins.  I admin at a board with these same rules, owned by these same people.  And I know what you\'re doing.  If a newer member did what I did to an older member at the board I admin at, people would be saying the same thing to him.  I totally know where you\'re coming from.  All the same though, I know what I did, and I still defend it.  And I\'m not going to treat mods and admins differently either, by the way.  You post like normal members, so you\'ll get reactions that normal members would get.

Well, I\'m not going to say much, but I guess I\'ll continue with that "Just a game" statement.

Different places, different faces, different reactions. Here in Nebraska, we got one team. They\'re nationally recognized, and outside of this year, one of the Top 10 programs in the country. Nebraska football isn\'t just a sport, it\'s the reputation of the state. When most people think of Nebraska, they think of Corn and Football. For some, it\'s just a game, but for others...it\'s the reputation of a society, and for the few, an entire state.

When people lay that "it\'s just a game", I scoff at them. If you don\'t know the psychee of the person, the statement means nothing.

Oh, and smacking somebody in the back of the helmet after a play is well dead is much worse than tossing ice at a kid while not looking. To further go into that -- the Kid got a football, and Shaun Williams got tossed, while TO didn\'t.

Those two incidents are in NO WAY related. Shockey tossed ice over his shoulder, and Terrell Owens instigates fights in two consecutive plays.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!
