Biased...maybe. But not blindly. The STi is not the best end all car in the world. I just don\'t agree that it\'s over rated. No one looks at the STi as the baddest drag racer or even a road course king. How can you say it\'s over rated? It\'s quick, it\'s fast, it manuevers very well and built with a superb chassis. But it\'s not the best and very far from the worst.

Take one for a spin.....it\'s a beast if you\'re not used to oversteer. Most WRX owners set it with oversteer.

Becuase Ford USA can not allow their Mustang to get stomped. That is why the Ford Cosworth (turbo with AWD) was never allowed here. Can you imagine a Mustang getting spanked by a Ford Escort Turbo AWD? Yes....you can....sorry, wrong question. :D But you see why we don\'t get kick ass European Ford cars here.

I don\'t care for the Subarus, but I\'m not a rally guy.  I hate the front hood scoop.  That thing could get cold air from the clouds.

also 18 MPG for a car that size stock is pretty nasty.  I get 24 with mine and my car is a little bigger.  But I only have 225HP, 214Lb Torque.  :(

18 mpg under HARD DRIVING. :D

The usual range is 22 city and 28 hwy. The hood scoop is necessary since it\'s a boxer engine with a top mounted intercooler, hence, the hood scoop. It\'s there for function, not display. The rear engine Porsches have boxer engines and they too have top mounted intercoolers, I believe. They have rear ram air scoops. Looks meaner too!

I have always like the look and performance of the Impreza. Here in the uk though we get screwed for insurance costs. All Impreza turbo\'s are in group 20 insurance, which is the highest group. Also the cost in pounds is a bit steep £25,000 for sti model.

I was on the interstate the other day and an import club went by me with their engines all a whining.  I cruised with them at a little over 100.  I felt like I was driving at about 50, but you know a lot of those guys were gripping.  

I digress.

God, all those cars sound the same.  I just don\'t care for it.  TO each his own I guess.

As for the WRX, I am not denying its a sweet car, I really am not, its just the fact that there are so many hardcore fans out there that seem to think that its the shnitz. Its a superb rally car, but I just don\'t buy a car for performance. Its ugly, and I repeat, dead ugly inside, and the exterior design has gone down the crapper. I was a complete WRX devotee in the late nighties when it had older design, but now Subaru have screwed with a great looking car.

The reason I said it was over rated was purely because there are other cars, with similar performance etc out there that people seem to overlook.
