Really stange lag problem
« on: January 07, 2003, 01:38:56 PM »
I played CS alot before I formated and I\'d get 200 ping and like no lag, after I formated I get about 250 but the lag of 2000 ping, my hud takes forever to load, kills dont register till the next round and it\'s just generally poor. Anyone got any help?

this might be coz of yer ISP, this happens to me alot one day my list would be full of servers with 250 pings then the next i\'ll be lucky if i find one with 500 ping.
one more thing i remember that u once mentioned something about win modem (or somehing to that effect) maybe this is causing yer problems.

I thought of a modem conflict but I checked and it seems to be fine, it\'s my External modem in full control. Plus, I really don\'t think it\'s the ISP as they are fast and the problem still happens when I use the other ISP, which has worked fine for months.

Sounds like a ISP problem.. Or a server/router is out between u and whatever server it\'s trying to connect to. So it\'s taking a longer route around to it.

maybe..
