I loved the 80\'s. I hope that doesn\'t make me too big a fag. In fact, the coolest shows aired in the 80\'s. Knight Rider, A-Team, Batle Star Galactica, Buck Rodgers...Damn! That was some good times. Not to mention the movie Breakin\'! I love the days of my youth!!!1

What the hell are the ol\' 1984\'ers complaining about? Agreed, Internet is a good thing, a priviledge. E-mail is a good thing. Message-boards are a good thing. But. Internet creates addiction. These days young minds are messed up due to the addiction the freedomness of the Internet creates. We have internet-junkies, nerds whom have no life what-so-ever. E-mail makes international communication easy, simple and free - but at the same time opens a doorway for countless of post-box spammers and virus-senders. Indeed - you couldn\'t get infected by checking your inbox during the good ol\' 1984 unless you were on the Black List of some anonymous terrorist-group or underground-mob. Message-Boards are fast-paced, cool and time-consuming, making communication even easier. But they are also havens for countless of n00bs whom only spam and violate the rules. Back in 1984 you just didn\'t have huge amounts of 12-year-old children running around your house, speaking 1337, shouting all the time and covering the walls with nasty pictures, now did you? Back in 1984 video-games couldn\'t generate violence among children, now could they? I\'ll be damned if Asteroids brought murderous thoughts into a player\'s mind. Media didn\'t have total control over the youth, now did it? Stop complaining and enjoy the positive factors the year 2003 brings, and realize: the youth is still having a hard time!

Hey Coredweller I was there too Opening day for Star Wars freagin TV cameras and all wasnt that the coolest theater till the bastards tore it down.

Darth Yoda it’s a rhetorical statement, only meant to be funny and only proves your point to the exact. Every generation has its own “difficulties” and some day you will be telling your kids “ You have it soooo easy with you damn solar powered hover cars why I remember….”

yeah well, I was an 80\'s child and I found nothing wrong with it.  We got the 80\'s and we have now.  The objective is to stay young forever... thats the trick.  I have to stay alive to see the playstation 9.... (Did anyone see that add)

Later on, I actually worked at that theater for 3 months when I was is high school.  You wouldn\'t believe the sh1t they had stowed behind the screen.  Every crazy ass lobby standee and homemade display and decoration they ever used in that theater since it was built.  I also met the troll projectionist, and saw all the secret rooms.  There was a lot of that theater that ordinary people never saw.  Yeah, a piece of my childhood died when they tore it down.  Damn Arizona developers.

I htought there were VCRs in the 80s. I know there were TVs with remotes because we have one in my parents room. I would have liked to live in the 80s. Too bad I was born in 86.

Then VHS came out and screwed BETA over, right? And weren\'t BETAs around in the late 70s?

BETA\'s were quickly over-run by VHS in the late 70\'s I think. My father still has a BETA-player somewhere.

Some question why VHS became so popular. BETA\'s offered better on-screen-quality, were small and cheaper. Or so I have been told.

I was born the same year - yet I do remember many things from the 80\'s.
