Things that all movies & Shows do

This thread is kind of connected to the thread me and L-I-C are talking about (the matrix one).

Bt in this case I had a idea of us lot talking about the things all moves do, you know the classic examples were they do something that’s sp far removed from how you would really do it.

Example 1 (Computers)
If you notice in most films where the characters are use in PC or other the look through files or access programmes.

They hardly ever use the Mouse

For example In Bad boys they always clatter away at the keyboard to open and close windows and even when they are looking trough a data base the hammer the up and down arrow like there is no tomorrow while the pictures only advice one at a time.

Example 2 (Consoles)
Connected to example 1
In most films where a Console game is clearly seen they get it totally wrong, for example the two kids playing Final Fantasy 8 in Charlie’s Angels with two Controllers.


Example 3 (Driving-US)
I have noticed that this is more of an American thing, where the main characters are driving down a straight road. The Driver waves the steering wheel like he/she is going round a mountain trail.


Example 4 (Telephone Numbers- US)
Now please correct me if I am wrong, but have you noticed in a film when a character gets a phone number and reads it out, no matter where the phone is it always starts with 555- is this a US dialling code ? if not its bloody annoying

Anyway you get the idea

I left out the poor use of reloading in films and shows if you want to add it.

and have you noticed that in every researching, the actors only have to write the surname of one person in one PC to get all the data? Passwords and non-authorised persons seems to don\'t exists in those films. And what about graphics? Old PCs with green screens are able to perform extra complex 3D maps and fotograph\'s zoom in miliseconds.

I noticed most of those actually... I remember one example when this wasn\'t used though. New movie, Just Married, uses some other number than 555... That\'s really the only movie though that I can think of. :)

Why\'d you think so many movie-game conversions turn out so bad ? haha LOL. The old pc\'s which produce detailed 3D graphics
are also very funny. So funny, it\'\'s actually cheesy.

555 is an unused prefix in the US. using anything other than that would be giving out somebody\'s phone #.

Like that Tommy Tutone song from the \'80\'s- "867-5309 Jenny"

That was actually the phone # for the chief of police\'s 25-year-old daughter right here in Buffalo. When that song came out, her phone rang nonstop until she got it changed.

Many movies are using numbers other than 555 now.  I\'ve noticed it on several occasions.  I guess they reserved some more numbers.  

I always thought the 555 thing was destracting.

what strikes me, is that in almost all movies and shows that aren\'t based around black people, they always put one black person in as if they don\'t want to be thought of as discriminating or something.

Yeah Car maintenance is piss poor in horror films ;)

Why don’t these would be victims just pay the £80 or so got get their cars serviced with a oil chance and new spark plugs ?

why is it the fact that most bad guys can\'t shoot straight Unless

they are shooting at a random extra. then they seam to be able to aim like some kind of Veteran Special Forces Sniper.

What about the classic black street cop meets white trendy cop and or asian cop.  Then theres this part where they decide to tell about there background and "how it was"   Then eventually at the end, they realize that they are not so different and work together to solve the problem.  

Example of this crap: Showtime, Rush Hour...etc
