I think jst banning him would have been a better choice than how it was dealt with.

He was warned, then banned, then warned again, then I took away his post count and 2 other moderators came up with the pic and the user title.  If you won\'t have respect for the rules and forum policy, then you don\'t deserve the privilidges that are offered here.  All of you earned your avatarrs and custom titles and name colors and pretty much all of you post good stuff, but when you decide the rules just don\'t conform to your agenda and pretty much piss all over them, you don\'t deserve them.  Simple as that.

So...if the member breaks the rules, it\'s alright to make a mockery of him, and THEN ban him?

Just a question, of course. It just doesn\'t make sense to me.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

That\'s what mm did to me when I was at CC. He put "sheep" under my avatar.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

I\'m not attacking you personally Ryu, but I think that the idea of doing what you did to his posts, avatar, and status was low.  If you want him gone, just ban him.  Don\'t send him the message that way.

VS wasn\'t permanantely banned.  The banning was his first warning.  Then, he decided, after the banning, not to adhere to the rules.  I figured the first banning would be enough for him to understand that, but instead, he posted that first thread when he returned stating that he would not adhere to the new rules nor would he change his posting methods and then he asked to be banned.  I suppose we could have just banned him, but why would that work if it didn\'t work the first time?  I figured he would reform, behave, and then later, after he finally started to adhere to the rules, I\'d return most, probably all of his original features.

Instead, he decided to leave.  Maybe we pushed him, but would the result be different if we banned him forever?  At least with what I did, he had a chance to at least make good with his time here.  He decided not to.

Why should he adhere to your demandings when you had something against him from the start?

My demandings?  They are forum policies.  I had something against him, sure, but that had nothing to do with the actions taken.  He made the posts, not me.

Yea yea yea, policies, got ya.  Actions taken, is that before or after you defaced his name?

I have to agree with shock and Racer. That was too harsh. Post counts and status and avatar shape your personallity. Taking that away is like locking you up in a maximum security prison. All your dignity is stripped away. Yeah, he was a spammer. That\'s just who he is. You can\'t change that. All you can do is tell him to change but taking away his post counts and everything would just make him have a bigger grudge for the admins and would do what he did but only worse. I\'ve lost respect for Ryu now. That punishment was too harsh. A banning is what the rules say that would happen for spamming and adding rules that aren\'t listed is not right. In fact its very unfair.

Calling someone "not funny" is defacing them?  I don\'t seem to recall when the same, in fact far more extreme, reactions came from you Bozco when this was done to the x-trolls around here awhile ago when they were here.  In fact, I seem to remember you loving and laughing about it just the same.  What makes what we did to Vapor any different?

Notice how I said "we did" as opposed to "I did"?

Exactly.  If you want to hide behind the rules, don\'t go outside of them to punish him.

And what makes this different is that Vapor was clearly singled out, and punished in a way that no one else has been recently.  He was targetted, pretty simply put.  If you think he was the worst poster here, then you and I must be looking at different forums.

The rules are there for guidelines and what would happen. I saw no where in the rules where it said that member status, avatar and posts would be stripped. What you did was wrong and you know it.

VS felt this place was his playground, as do several other members

Things change, people change, past instances don\'t change what is happening right now.  Putting Vapor in the same pile as a troll is pretty funny too.

And yes, taking his avatar and putting up a different title is defacing.  As for it being a joint decision as opposed to just you, ok.  Its all the same to me.

And since you had something against Vapor from the start, just wondering if you do against me.
