Future of the forum

I am more referring to the way he has been treated in general lately. Yes, the post count thing was uncalled for. Sure, he said some things. So what? Did you let him post a while first? No. You never gave him a chance.

I didn\'t ban him, that was chance enough.  He had, and still has, the oppurtunity to reform.  It was his decision to leave, not mine.

Personally, the list of people worse than Vapor for me would be much longer than the list of people better than him.  There were few members I liked as much as him.  Sure, he spammed some, but he also very frequently had some interesting stuff to say.

You clearly drove him away.  If I were treated the same way, I\'d be out of here too.  Hell, I\'m considering it anyway.  And you better believe I\'d make a big deal out of it too.  It was the least he should get after the shit that was done to him.

If the members of the forum truely think that someone is out of line, a big spammer, or just bringing down the forum, we usually let our opinions be known.  Ie PS2_Gurl, who posted spam constantly with out ever being banned.

I fail to see how he brought it upon himself. Acting like a child is his personality. My personality is to be a wise ass. I see no one cracking down on me doing that. I spam just as much as Vapor yet I\'m not banned. His personality was different that the rest of you and he shouldn\'t be punished because he\'s different.

Whatever, if you love Vapor, fine. More power to you. He broke the rules frequently, got warned, got dealt with in a questionable but fair way in his case IMO, and is now gone. You questioned the admins, they answered, let it be already.

You know, I started to read this thread, but I got bored. I\'m just thankful that a select few people put their time and effort into these boards. I like the fact that I can log on every day and observe or join in on conversations with peeps from around the planet. If this place disappeared tomorrow, I would wonder what happened to all of you guys. I don\'t have any other way of conversing with you. Normally, spam doesn\'t bother me, but then again, I don\'t have to mod these boards. I\'ve browsed other boards, and they all suck.

if any of my actions have made this crackdown necessary- I\'m sorry. Sometimes it\'s fun to act like a kid. I\'ll continue to log in everyday, I wanna see what you guys are talking about.

Umm, I spam more that him and I haven\'t even gotten a warning or anything yet. The Lurkers ring a bell? Past few weeks I\'ve been nothing but spamming. Vapor only started to spam recently. I never noticed a problem except that some of his posts were childish but that doesn\'t bother me. We should have the freedom to post however we want.

Heh, it\'s like saying the glass is half empty when I see the glass as half full.  You think taking all that away is a terrible defamation of character when the important thing is is that he can still contribute provided he goes by the rules.  The rest falls into place after that.  Post counts and avatarrs don\'t make a good poster.  It\'s what you say that makes you a good poster.  You above all should know that and I figured I\'d let his actions do the talking.  He talked right off the forum.

Wrong.  He showed that he can be mature and intelligent with his posts and yet, in the very same thread, said that he would never stay that way.  He obviously as the potential to be a good poster, yet he chooses not to be one just like he chose to leave.

I don\'t give a damn if you think Vapor is cool or not, and I really don\'t care. You just took his post and tried to make him look bad, bullshit, you\'re breaking your own rules. It was interesting to him, doesn\'t matter if it was to you or not.

It wasn\'t just spam. He did everything wrong. It wasn\'t just spam like some of you make it out to be. Insulted members, mods and newbies for no reason, spammed, ruined topics, and then ASKED to be banned(you call that not bringing it upon yourself?). He wasn\'t just a child. He was an annoying and bad child that gets detention every day after school.

You conform to the rules, he didn\'t. And there is the difference.

VS - Defaced. That\'s what it comes down to. We question this action because quite frankly, it was unjust. Why deface somebody? Saying that he \'pushed the envelope\' as far as being pushed away means nothing whatsoever. What matters is the manner of the way things were done, and the circumstances they were done in -- both unjust.

I act like a child too and spam also. But I too have intelligent conversations. I act a lot like Vapor. Without him on the boards, this place is dull and boring. It may not seem it to you be he contributes to this board. I found him to be funny. A couple things he posted, I almost fell out of my seat. My post rate dropped this week because I had nothing to reply to or anything.

The point is, if I were treated as he had been here, I wouldn\'t want to post here anymore.  You did him no favors, so stop pretending that you did.  Ask him what he would have rather had.  

Sure post counts and avatars don\'t make a good poster.  Then again, I guess mod and admin status doesn\'t necessarily make you a good judge of the quality of someone\'s posting either.


And tell me Jumpman, if you were banned today, do you think people would be making this big a deal about it?  The fact that there are so many people saying these things should tell you something.
