I always figured he\'d be more of a skittle person, myself.

And Racer, pop is dying.  Slowly but surely.

When will Metal become a (the?) dominant music style, again? :(

Dude, grunge was all there was in the early 90\'s. Nirvana and Pearl Jam were immensely popular. Probably the two biggest bands of the 90\'s(Nirvana being bigger of the two on a whole). Smells Like Teen Spirit was probably the most played rock song of the 90\'s. Grunge was teh shiznett.

Grunge died when Kurt Cobain killed himself though.

Don\'t you mean when Courtney shot him?

As for pop dying\' - its slower than usual, but it\'ll never die, because we will always have teenage girls who go goo-goo over cute boys, we\'ll always have soccer moms who love songs about eternal lust and love. The market will always remain.

By the way - grunge was huge in the 90\'s. It was what "rap" is today. The popular genre. Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and many other bands was huge hits.

Eminem is the Nirvana of today - although the musical genre is quite different. Why? Because Eminem is controversial, original and has a "so-what? f*ck the television" attitude, much like Nirvana once had. He does whatever he wants, and the crowd follows.

Eminem isn\'t bad. I don\'t like rap in general - I hate phat, 1337-like rappers such as P. Diddy and Jay-Z - but Eminem gets my vibes goin\' every now and then. His latest album, The Eminem Show, is great - better than his previous work.

I have nothing against the guy either. He has succeeded through hard work, end of story.

Courtney was in a drub rehab center when he shot himself(she was out when the body was found, but SHE wasn\'t even in Seatle at the time).

I don\'t even think she was beyind it. After reading a biography on him called "Heavier Than Heaven", I\'m 75% sure that he did kill himself. The guy was just so messed up all his life. Its sad because it all started with his parents getting divorced at the age of 7(?) and it all went downhill from there. I would go into detail but you should really check the book out. Great read on a great man.

And you are correct about the bands you named. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden were the big three when it came to grunge.

Nirvana>Pearl Jam. And Ten>Vitalogy>Vs>all the crap since then.

I find that Eminem and even Nirvana were very television friendly, they were just very anti-everything-ish. Although in Kurt\'s case, a lot of just was just well planned out material to boost his career...

Oh, and Kurt Cobain>Eminem. No comparasion.
