Javascript problem?
« on: February 04, 2003, 12:36:49 PM »
This has been bugging me for quite some time.:( Every link that i want to open that says, javascript:(something here) a blank screen will appear. I cant even go to this forum page without doing the "copy and paste" method. :(

Does anybody know whats wrong with my computer? Or how I can fix it? It would be greatly appreciated.:)

Give us a little more information such as what browser you are using and version.  Also is this only a problem on certain sites? Certain links?  Give a link that you get the problem with.

So you\'re saying that if you click on this link: http://www.psx2central.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=27885 (link to this forum page) a blank screen will appear?

That\'s very odd.  Perhaps Javascript isn\'t enabled, I don\'t know off the top of my head how to enable it (it should be by default).  Maybe someone can give me a heads up otherwise I\'ll try to figure it out myself later.

Click on tools at top of screen, then select internet options. Click on the security tab and select custom from bottom of screen. If you scroll down the settings near the bottom there should be an option to either enable/disable Java applet scripts.

If Kurt\'s solutions doesn\'t work, try to update your browser.

6 is the newest version of IE.  The updates for it are security fixes so I doubt they would fix the problem.

Then again you never know so try using Windows update (Start->Settings->Windows Update).  You could try updating to IE6 SP1 that way (reinstalls IE).  If the problem persists and annoys you that much you may want to consider using another browser (something I could help you with).
