I changed my mind about unreal landcapes, and decided to create some kinda of real place with 3D Max. But that was a hard task... to recreate real polygons is something that could drive somebody crazy. So, I was looking for SFX files (altitude bars) of real places in the world and I liked this one: The Grand Canyon of USA. The task was very hard: I had to convert the SFX file into M3r to 3D max could understand it. Afterwards, the modelling took me 2 weeks (my god, and exams...) and later I had to make my own texture (I was looking for in the net but nothing was found, ok nothing I liked). And here you have the result. 95% of the polygons you\'re watching are completely real (more than 1 million).
I had problems with the shadows and final part canyon (as you can see, the canyon is opened at the end, but why? Easy: the room created for the landscape was too big that my processor couldn\'t manage that scene. I had to cut it and let it opened. Notice that in the landscape there are more than 100kms2 of photorrealistic ground).
This is not the original, but it will work. And the most important thing: do you like it?
PD: the rendering occupied the PC for at least 4 hours.
