This situation is quite typical. One respected oldie decides to take a break, announces it and the otherwise innocent thread turns into a debate about whether the forums meet the old standards. If we forget the past for a while, I think this community is an entertaining bunch of people with interesting opinions and subjects to share. The newbie-enthusiasm, the feel of freshness, is long-gone - but the enjoyability remains. Perhaps I am not too keen on poo- and piss-humour or threads without real purpose, but I think the Off-Topic -forum became more interesting due to the new moderator-policy. This is no haven for spamming anymore - and even as I blame nobody for that dirty era, I believe the bans, as warnings, were deserved and needed.
"Things aren\'t the way they used to be." One can so easily hide behind the previously mentioned sentence. Of course things aren\'t the way they used to be. If they were, we would probably be complaining about how things never change. Everything evolves. Forums see good and bad times - but there\'s always this average level of quality, and PSX2Central fares quite high on that scale IMO.
