Bringing something to the table
« on: February 11, 2003, 07:37:53 AM »
I\'ve been thinking.  Lately, there have been a few members leave, and a little more then a handful that have been somewhat complaining about the "traffic"  of the forums.  I was wondering what would be something that all of you would like to see in the forums that cold be posted, say, on a daily basis.  It could be anything from a review, to, well anything.  You deside.  I love comming to the forums, and its cool seeing everyone pitch in on a good thread.  The way I look at it; If we post it, they will come. ;)

i was going to bring to the table

http://www.bbc.co.uk/celebdaq/

Quote

CELEBDAQ is a celebrity share-trading game: sign up and we\'ll give you a cool ten thousand pounds (that\'s Celebdaq pounds, I\'m afraid - not real cash!)

You use this money - and your skill and judgement - to buy and sell \'shares\' in listed celebrities. Every week, the shares you own will pay out a dividend, depending on how much press coverage those celebrities received.

Just like in the real world, share prices rise and fall as demand for them changes - so as well as receiving dividends, you can make money by buying low and selling high...

Keep one eye on the market and the other on the entertainment press, and you could soon be raking it in! And not just in pretend money - there will be a real cash prize of £100 awarded every week!

will that to ? ;)

ooseven, are you doing that game?  I just entered it.  Looks kind of fun.  Do they update it hourly or is it a waste of time?

How about a way to rate posts?  Like a approve or disapprove button on the post itself.

I tried creating a topic, but it was deleted by a ****ing moron of a mod/admin. It was a non-serious topic that didn\'t really go anywhere, but the real issue is that is seems that you cannot post anything that isn\'t serious anymore. Stupid.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

"Hi" is a topic?  You are actually complaining about someone deleting a thread called "Hi"?

Give me a freaking break.  There is nothing to do in that thread but lock it and delete it.  Personally I would have deleted the thread so you wouldn\'t get credit for the post.  The Mod simply moved the thread so you still got the tick.

But complaining about that thread will get you no where.

That\'s actually a great idea.  I don\'t know about getting Sammy\'s job, but it could be great nevertheless.  Just because you\'d lick rat shit off a truckstop urinal doesn\'t mean you\'d make a good mod.
