« on: February 11, 2003, 02:45:37 PM »
Im at 26% at the moment..

Beyond3D has listed most of the mirrors here..
http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4273

Dont expect to get any answer from those servers though.. Took me forever to find one that would respond and I only got 17kb/s.

Anyone in Europe might want to try this one out. Im getting maximum speed here right now :)

hrmm....i think they did a horrible job on a demo presentation.  2001\'s demo was OK, and 99s was great.  But this one is basically just the benchmarks strung together, even if they are very pretty benches.  Hrmm...I got very high FPS on the plane demo, but the other two just put my system between 3-15fps blech.  Time for an upgrade!!!  I got around 1500 marks.

I don\'t think I\'ll even be trying this until I upgrade and get a 9700pro/R350 in my system.

1.2GHz Athlon
512MB SDRAM (hah)
Radeon 8500LE @ 285/285

I\'d probably get a 50 or something.

Wow this benchmark sure killed my computer! :(

I got something around 1700,1800.

Btw, seems nVidia is alille angry wiz 3DMark.

Quote
Nvidia has contacted us to say that it doesn\'t support the use of 3DMark 2003 as a primary benchmark in the evaluation of graphics cards, as the company believes the benchmark doesn\'t represent how current games are being designed. Specifically, Nvidia contends that the first test is an unrealistically simple scene that\'s primarily single-textured, that the stencil shadows in the second and third tests are rendered using an inefficient method that\'s extremely bottlenecked at the vertex engine, and that many of the pixel shaders use specific elements of DX8 that are promoted by ATI but aren\'t common in current games.

FutureMark\'s Aki Jarvilehto responded to Nvidia\'s comments:

"We\'ve been working for the last 18 months to make 3DMark 2003 an accurate and objective benchmark. Nvidia was one of our beta members until December, and it\'s not our place to comment on why they\'ve decided to withdraw from the program. After working on the project for almost two years with all the leading manufacturers, we do strongly believe that 3DMark 2003 is an accurate representation of game performance for modern 3D accelerators

I think nVidia is just looking for excuses.  Look at the GFX, it shows how hard they\'ve been trying lately.  All hail the new king, ATI.
