SIR ALEX PUT THE BOOT IN

Quote
Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted injuring David Beckham after kicking a football boot that landed on the player.

The England captain needed two stitches on a serious gash above his left eye.

Sir Alex said: "It\'s one of those freak acts of nature that happens and it\'s over.

"I mean it\'s a freak and it will never happen again."

Speaking about kicking the boot and consequently injuring David Beckham, Sir Alex said: "That happens in a dressing room."

Beckham, 27, was said to have been hit in the face after the Manchester United manager kicked a football boot across the changing room at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Beckham reacted with fury, reportedly storming away from the ground with his wife Victoria and their son Brooklyn.

The midfielder looked grim-faced as he left his home at Nether Alderley, Cheshire, on Monday.

Wound

He made no attempt to hide the wound from waiting photographers with his trademark blond hair pulled back by a hairband.

Beckham, who earns millions as the face of brands including Police sunglasses, Vodafone and Pepsi, chose not to wear any of his collection of hats or bandanas.

Sir Alex reportedly kicked the boot in fury as he gave his team a dressing down for their 2-0 home defeat at the hands of rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup 5th round.

The star midfielder was substituted during the fifth round match after injuring his right leg.

He received medical treatment at the ground after the dressing room incident and left immediately afterwards, according to The Sun.

A Manchester United spokesman refused to comment on the bust up, saying: "Whatever happens in the dressing room remains private."

If that had happened to me, I would have clocked Ferguson one, regardless of his age/reputation, even if it meant being thrown out of old trafford.

Alex is From Govan...Glasgow.

Lets just say David was lucky it was only a football boot and not a Glasgow Kiss (Head butt) or a Glasgow Smile (knife to checks to make your mouth bigger)

I had a teacher named Mr. Ferguson this year.  He was a good guy.  I refuse to believe someone with that name would do something wrong.

It doesn\'t matter whether it was an accident or not, the fact that he did it is enough.

And as for him saying it won\'t happen again....... I find it hard to believe he will never have another tantrum again.
