Giant Celery Stalk Needed For Record-Breaking Bloody Mary
NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- It\'s a bloody hassle but the makers of a popular drink mix are desperately trying to find the world\'s largest celery stalk -- pronto!
On March 1, the folks who make Mr. & Mrs. T\'s Bloody Mary Mix are planning to make the World\'s Largest Bloody Mary in New Orleans, in order to kick off Mardi Gras.
The record-breaking beverage is expected to measure 15-feet-tall and 12-feet-wide and hold 2400 gallons of mix and 600 gallons of vodka.
But bartenders still need a celery stalk and are stalking American farmers in hopes of finding the world\'s largest.
They better be willing to settle for less. Dr. Carlos Quiros, a plant geneticist from University of California at Davis, says most celery is trimmed before it reaches 24 inches.
Still, the Bloody Mary merrymakers are hopeful they\'ll find the right stalk but admit they\'re not expecting to find a 15-footer.
