Where do these kinda people come from???
03/05/03 Martita Gonzalez dropped her 16 month old baby boy, Anthony Matthew Valentin, off of a footbridge into the the Passaic River. 24 hours later she described to doctors how he had clung to her shirt, and said she did it because she "had no freedom".
The judge called it a "most heinous and cruel" crime and said: "It\'s hard to contemplate that the protector of this child would drop him into the raging torrent," the footbridge is just upstream from Paterson\'s Great Falls.
"I believe [Anthony] understood what was about to happen to him and there was absolutely nothing he could do...This baby went over the falls, and he may have been dead, or he may have been alive, and that has really bothered me," said the judge.
