Kamakazi question

I read in a book called "Tech war" that the Japanese designed special planes for kamikaze pilots, one of them was called Ohka (Japanese codename), Baka (American codename .. Means madman) that was attached to a twin-engine "mother plane" ..
When they approached the target they would detach from the mother plane and glide towards the target..

As they approached it the pilot in the Ohka would light the jet engine and the little plane would accelerate to about 1100km/h .. Smashing right into the target.

The Ohka was basically a big flying bomb weighting 1200 kg, but it had a human in it.
The Ohka was a very successful "bomb" ..

As for the question.. I guess they were failures.

actually, karakiri was for shamed government officials and the like, and involved a grand ceramony with spectators.

the samurai\'s of old performed what is called, sepaku.
they did it if thier master (or lord) died, or if they failed in battle (and somehow lived)
