Midnight Club II... Release pushed back???
« on: March 23, 2003, 02:56:24 AM »
I have really been looking forward to the release of this title.  With the Official US Playstation mag having indicated in this very month that its release date was set for March 18th in the states, and with them having written up boo-coos of articles in the same month\'s mag, its depressing to go to my local retailers and find that they indicate its not due out now until mid-April sometime :(.

I\'d love to hear someone tell me they\'re wrong (at the retailers) and that it has come out already.  \'Course, I also know that games are prone to be delayed...just sux that OPM got me all worked up for this phat ride

Thanks in advance if you know anything on Midnight Club II.

If it\'s anything like the first game you couldn\'t pay me enough to by the piece of crap.

Although, it will be online.  Maybe you could put your Network Adapter to good use for something other than Madden?  :)

Agreed, *IF* its like the first.  But the U.S. Playstation magazine seems to be giving it an extremely high endorsement.   Lots written up and well-reviewed with a 5-star rating (when, IMO, the mag seems willing to punish poor titles in their reviews).

My hope?  I hope to see Midnight Club II as another arcade racer similar to Burnout 2.  If its *that* good...well, that\'s all that will matter to me :D.

Thanks for the heads up on the release date folks!

Meh. I liked the first one when it first came out. But i love racing games, so there is little bias. Anyway, i think the game looks pretty fun but im not sure yet if its worth a buy, ( for me at least :p ) To Each His Own

The first wasn\'t too bad considering the other releases round the PS2 launch. Once you taken into account Tekken Tag and SSX, Midnight Club was a fairly playable game.

Im interested in how the second one will play.

True dat.  I haven\'t played PS2 in quite a while.  I need a new game.

has anyone bought this game/ rented it yet. Im going to try to rent it next week when I go on vacation but i doubt it because the Hollywood Video and Blockbuster near my house both suck monkey d*ck. The thing that turned me off with the screenshots was that you only have a certain amount of time to pass a checkpoint and about 90% of those kind of games i am crappy at(to the point of it not being fun). Any reviews. ones iv seen were good.

Yes, its online, with many different race types or so i hear.  Also, it has a track editor, and you can use custom tracks online which is always a bonus.
