Remember Meigs Field from Flight Simulator?

Well, its under attack by Chicago\'s mayor and was attacked and bulldozed a day or two ago. For those who don\'t know what Meig\'s Field is, its a small airport in Chicago that is the default air port in all the Flight Simulators. I\'ve grown to love that small little place in the game. Here\'s the link of the destruction. I wish I could do something about it.

Why do you wish you could do something about it? It serves no real purpose that Ohare or Midway cant both take care of. The only ppl, for the most part, that want to save the airport are the ones who benefit from it. It is basically nothing more than a burden on the taxpayers that have to take care of it.

I fully support their intended plans of destoying that airport and developing the land for the citizens of chicago vs keeping it for a small select group of ppl, most of which who do not and cannot use it in its current form.

I don\'t know much about Meigs field but people I bet pay to store and take off from that airport so the money goes back to the tax payers. And there are plenty other airports in this country that burden taxpayers and aren\'t in too much of a use. Chicago also could sell the airport, i\'m sure someone will buy it.

Less than 20 miles from Meigs is Midway.

Less than 30 from Meigs is Ohare Intl.

Mainly the only ppl that use that airport are politicians and wealthy buisnessmen who are to lazy to take a limo ride that is a tad bit longer.

Meigs has very little daily traffic. It has been proposed to have it closed since 1972.

But it\'s in a game and that\'s what is really important.  You don\'t want Microsoft to have to come up with a new default airport now do you?

I see your point now. I\'m just upset because it was bulldozed illegally. there was a restraining order on it and the mayor bulldozed the runway anyway.

He bulldozed it then the restraint to stop him took effect. The city bulldozed it at nioght to dodge those cry-babies who want to keep it open.

Funny thing though, they spend all of this money in legal fee\'s. SPend all of this money, time, and effort to keep it open. I bet they are not willing to foot the yearly costs to operate it.
