4:30 am Eastern, the alarm goes off. 9 hours later, I am on the ground in LA. After picking up the rental car, it was time to head off to the LA Convention Center to get out media badges. It’s always a roll of the dice when you register as media, because they have such stringent requirements to get in. Luckily, we breezed through the registration process.
There’s still tons of work to be done to get the show ready for tomorrow but we were able to peak through the glass and see just enough to get excited. In the lobby of West Hall there was a 15 foot series of monitors showing footage from Rogue Squadron 3. Even though the footage had been looping all day, there were no less than 50 people staring, mouths open at the game.
After watching an Army helicopter hover above the parking lot, and soldiers repel (sp?) out of it, we headed off to Hollywood to check into our hotel. Not a bad view of Downtown Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills, and the Hollywood sign.
We’ll stay up for a few more hours, and then it’s time to rest up for the big show. Look for lots of snazzy pictures tomorrow. It’s gonna be sweet.
