Paintball

I want a paintball gun but unfortunetly, my mom still controls my life. She does not want me to get a pinatball gun and says even if she did the age requiriement for paintball guns in NY state is 18 or older.  I don\'t know if this is true and I was wondering if anyone here knew the age requirement for owning a paintball gun in NY state.

As far as I can tell from a quick bit of searching, there is no manditory age for purchase in NY, though you do need visual proof of identity (driver\'s lisence - 16?).  Same with buying the ammunition for the paintball gun.  For other guns/ammo (including pelet/air guns) you do need to be 18 however, so I\'m not 100%.

There\'s no point in buying a gun if it\'ll piss ur mom off that bad, just wait untill your 18.  That way you can point out that you were mature enough to make a balanced and adult decision, and etc. etc.

You need to be 18 to buy the gun, but not to use it.  If someone older buys one for you, it\'s perfectly fine for you to own and use it.  I\'m in NY, and I\'ve had mine since I was 16.
