Cowboy Bebop: Knockin\' on Heaven\'s Door..
« on: June 10, 2003, 05:26:56 AM »
Alright, I know it is old news to some of you, but has anyone else had a chance to catch the full-lenght Cowboy Bebop film?

I was at work the other night and saw an advirtisement in the paper, sayin\' that the cinema near our local college was playin\' the anime . I couldn\'t wait and went after I got off work...Long story short...It was f**kin\' fantastic. I can\'t wait until the 24th of this month when it comes out on DVD.

*swings*

Anyone else had the chance to watch it?

I\'ve seen it.  Amazing stuff.  Really lived up to my expectations.  Some incredible fight scene animation, too.
Lisa: \"They must of programed it to eliminate the competition!\"
Bart: \"You mean like Microsoft?\"

I love Cowboy Bebop but it won\'t make it to a theater anywhere near me so I\'ll just have to scoop up the DVD.

*going off topic here*

Not yet, I haven\'t.

And Rob - I live in Kentucky and was very surprised that it made it to a theater near me. The theater that played it was one that plays forgein movies, go figure.

You won\'t have to wait long for the DVD as it comes out the 24th of this month.

It hasn\'t been released over here has it? And if so - how\'s the dubbing?

I may check that out. I went anime shoppin\' today and finally added \'Ninja Scroll\' and \'Ninja Resurrection\' to my collection.

Nothin\' beats \'Cowboy Bebop\' though. I frickin\' love that series and have never regretted gettin\' the Perfect Sessions box set, espically see\'ing that it has since went out of print.

I saw this a while ago at this theater that plays old and flicks from overseas. When i saw it on the big screen with surround sound and a barely full theatre, MAN it was the shit! Im not the biggest Cowboy Bebop fan but that movie was great. I liked it so much that i dled it when i got home but for some odd reason i like the english version better. Oh well. I wish it would come back the theatres. (damn puter)

The last Berserk DVD just got released last month.  The main character has an excellent English voice actor and most of the others are good as well.  Some random guy has Goku\'s voice :).

Is the Perfect Sessions for Bebop just the best episodes put together on a DVD(s)?

The \'Perfect Sessions\' box set is actually all the volumes together , along with a music cd.  It\'s a rather big box. I think I paid around 200 for mine.

There is some other kind of compliation two disc set that is just \'best of\'.. I\'d pass on it.

I have a question about the show(not the movie).

What is the name of the song that\'s being played when you see the credits at the end?I like it!

P.S:I noticed that the perfect sessions dvd is very cheap at amazon at the moment. So if anyone wants it now is the time.

A question to you Living In Clip(former defender of 2-d)

What other anime do you recommend?

You seem to really know your anime.Here\'s the story so far:
I was never into anime but one of my friends is.He always told me about a show called "Hellsing".About how great it was,the music and the characters. So one day,to get him off my back,I decided to watch some episodes.I loved it and now I even have the 2 soundtracks.   :thepimp:

After reading some reviews on the internet I decided "Cowboy Bebop" was something I should try next.I\'ve only seen about 4 episodes but I love it aleady.

So in conclusion:My question is(in case you forgot)

What other anime do you recommend?

Hell yeah. Trigun and Robotech are great, eventhough im not so sure how he will like robotech because its a little dated (for the more contemporary viewer). If you havent seen the typical great animes like akira or ghost in the shell you could try those (plus they are longer than just renting volumes). I guess it depends on what you are in to
