How to install XP?

Here\'s a question -- was your version PURCAHSED or DOWNLOADED?  You know what, don\'t answer that.  Your opinion is solidified no matter what your answer is so I\'m just going to let it be.  I\'ll be one of the faceless masses who can get winXP to work on my hardware setup and you can be one of the technical specialists who can\'t or prefer not to.  Either way, we\'re both perfectly happy with how things are running on each of our PC\'s and that\'s all that\'s wanted or needed in the end.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

I can live with that.... and it\'s purchased.  I\'m not a pirate.

The simple fact is that just with a few minutes of searching you can find a lot of people with problems JUST LIKE MINE out on the web.  This to me says "wait a couple of years", and XP will be the bug-free, supported OS (I hope).  For now, 2000 is nearing the end of it\'s life, I\'m sure MS will stop supporting it in a year or two, but until then, it\'s the speedier choice.  Looking at about 6-7 other techie forums, it seems to me that 2000 is reccomended 2 out of 3 times by most people, for most setups/uses.  XP will probably be fine by mid 2005.

Also, next time, don\'t tell someone you don\'t know (who\'s system setup you haven\'t seen) that their hardware setup is crappy.  It\'s a good way to turn a discussion of pros/cons of a system or OS into just a lot of blasting.

Simple fact is, every os has bugs when it\'s first released..
2000 isn\'t on it\'s 3rd service pack for nothing. Fact is, some hardware setups that xp has problems with are from no name brands. Not saying yours is fatal, I have a no name Capture card and I had lots of problems getting BT878 chipset drivers for xp. Even no name brands can give 2000 problems.

Xp has a lot of crap thrown into it. But an advanced user can disable the crap without problems; the average user wouldn\'t even care or notice.

I personally prefer xp for backwards compatibility, multimedia ease and the easy theme setups. 2000 seems alittle boring to me. :)
