novocaine vs nitrous oxide
« on: August 17, 2003, 04:46:45 PM »
The other day I chipped my tooth, and it was freak\'n hollow.  I brush religously, floss, refrain from sugar and drink a half gallon of skim milk a day, and I still have a f*ck\'n hollow tooth, I think it\'s fluride poisoning (my city has fluridated water.

Anyways, I think I\'m going to have to have my tooth capped, and wanted to know everone\'s preferance on novocaine vs nitrous oxide.  I\'m weary of the no2 because I hate the idea of being "high".  I\'m a control freak, and always have to have control of my faculties...BUT I\'m pretty much immune to novocaine, even after 3 shots of the stuff I\'m not the least bit numb.  So I\'m kind of concidering the no2.

A certain amount make\'s them stronger, but an overdose causes your teeth to become porous (I just found out online)

Odd, my dentist gives me a couple shots and then applys the nitrous. Needless to say Im pretty much floating on a cloud throughout the ordeal.
It\'s only funny until someone gets hurt...then it\'s hillarious.

When I have had fillings in the past I just had an injection to numb my mouth. Never has gas.

I now just get the Nitrous because I feel good when I get it. When I got teeth pulled, I got both. A week or two ago, I had to get a tooth cleaned (pit, not cavity) and had to get I think three or four sealants put on. I only used Nitrous. Damn I felt good :D Its a cool high. Although I can\'t seem to move when I get it but my head...damn :D
