You must get into the liberal mindset to understand. It\'s a scary place but I will go there now for you . . .  It is about the oil. It is not going to reach the little guy but it is going to line the pockets of GWB\'s rich fat cat friends.

If you let Iraq set up its own government it will be become another Iran.  The Sunni minority won\'t stand a chance against the more fundamentalist Shite majority.  Then you will have another fundamentalist anti west country ready to sponsor terrorism... the only difference would be Iraq has a lot of commodities to sell to fund terrorism.

That is the whole point of this conversation.  Do I like the fact that we have to stay there?  NO, but walking away is not the answer.  That whole region needs a babysitter and unfortunately being the only world superpower we have to do it.

I am curious as to what our non US members of the forum think about yesterdays bombing of the UN headquarters in Iraq especially IF it was Al Queda.

If it was Al Queda then that\'s a serious hornets nest that was stirred up by the previous two wars. Where can be bombed next in retalliation now no-one knows where the hell they organise everything from?

We don\'t know what their numbers are or what weaponry they have at their disposal, they\'re obviously nuts and each one of them would happily blow themselves up for the cause, it\'s a new type of enemy, an expendable one, kind of like The Borg. I really have no idea what can be done about it, take a look at a crowd walking down a busy street, any one of them could be wearing a C4 vest. I just don\'t worry about it until it happens, everywhere is a target for them it seems, that\'s why it\'s less likely it will happen to you or anyone you know, the area they\'re trying to cover with fear is just massive.

But this is all about IF it was Al Queda. If it wasn\'t then it must have been an Iraqi, for that we should leave the whole country to rot, pull all aid and remove ALL foreign forces, fighters or peacekeepers, after they\'ve finished with their shit and if they\'re left in a real mess with a horrid leader then we should step in and use our financial muscle as a whole to fix it. I suspect all that\'s needed is for people to see that for anything to get back on track we WILL be needed (now we\'ve destroyed it all), we need to \'force\' them to realise we\'re not Devils in cammo gear and just want the best for as many people as we can.

Shocked and sickened.

If anything this will only set back the rebuilding of the country and only add to the increasing level of chaos.

It just goes to show you that the whole situation in Iraq is going to HELL in a handcart(especially when it was revealed that Iraqi officials warned US “authorities”  of this attack 2 Days before the bombing  ) .

But again if it doesn’t pump oil then it receives the same substandard protection like (the water pipe line., the hospitals, the national treasures etc….etc…etc….)

Update
----------
Looks like Jack Straw and Collin Powel are going cap in hand to the UN today to request a multinational peace keeping force mean while we are getting bogged down in a no win situation that’s costing both British and American Lives.

Geee thanks for your eternal wisdom Mr Blair and Bush for leading us into this terrible situation.

I mean whaaaooooo you managed to turn a CONTAINED situation into a political / humanitarian / military / economic cockup

Mr Blair was always focused on his place in history look like he will get it for this.

But how many people will USE their vote rather than stick with cold comfort?

He\'s the amazing Teflon man, nothing\'ll stick, see how he\'s trying desperately to sidestep all important issues and almost succeeding.

IF it was alquaeda(sp), will somebody please tell me the reason for the first war? Wasn\'t it to stop this bastards? I know that it\'s hard but damn shouln\'t we at least have the comfort of knowing Bin Laden is dead? That just proves that we went into this war too soon. Now we have all this problems piling up.

AND again the US officials were warned of this attack. WTF?! Wasn\'t there some crazy rumour that they had some idea of what might happen back in 9/11?!?!?

To me this just proves the situation has not improved one bit.

Who cares right?! Bush is out of office next year(hopefully), so it won\'t be his problem anymore.
Don\'t try to confuse me with what you call  facts, my mind is already made up.
