The aerodynamics may be the same, but I have to imagine that is probably where the similarities stop.

Actually I don\'t mind a lot the car\'s shape but the power, quality and fiability.

Hyundai Motor America is in such sad shape right now.  Their CEO Finbarr O\'Neill quit to join Mitsubishi, and four other top level execs left since May 2003.  Speculation suggests that the Korean leadership was micromanaging the US firm too closely, and not permitting them any flexibility in addressing the unique nature of the US market.  It\'s so funny to see a third rate manufacturer like that shoot themselves in the foot.  :)

You do realise that out of all the Car Companies....

There a 2 or 3 Big ones that own them all.

or it was a few years ago.

I think you\'re overstating the level of consolidation in the automobile market.  There is a so-called "Big Three" in the United States, but they are only the big three domestic manufacturers.

Some formerly independent companies like Mazda, Saab, and Jaguar have been bought up, but Hyundai is not owned by any other other major auto manufacturer.

You know damn right Hyundai and Mercedes have nothing in common.  Thinking only 2-3 companies "own them all" pretty much states that you\'re not a car guy. ;)
