Smallville?
« on: September 25, 2003, 04:52:12 PM »
I never watch TV, so I didn\'t bother watching the show, until Season One came out on DVD.

Anyone else watch the show? If so - how are the other seasons?

My intial impressions was terrible. I couldn\'t take it. It seemed like Dawson\'s Creek, if Dawson had super-powers. After episode six, I found myself somewhat enjoying the show. Sure, it\'s the typical "monster of the week" formula, but its a somewhat decent reinvention for a classic character. Not to mention Tom Weiling does a great Clark - even if it\'s not the docile and naive Clark that I am so used to.

From what I understand, season two is more arc driven and season three is suppose to be. I guess I\'ll find out when they come out on DVD.

Well, I would have to agree... but it\'s now one of my favorite time-killers.  The acting is very, very improved, and the story arc is much better than the early "power discovery" episodes.  They\'ve also learned how to work in the ol\' cliffhanger episode endings....

I loved the first season, sorta lost track and stopped watching it...

Yup, she is very nice indeed, great set of boobies.  She seems to have something down her pants though!
I like the way the schoolgirls dress in Hollyoaks too!:D

Slightly off topic but believe it or not Kurt... That’s how I imagined Samwise looked like before he posted a picture of himself. :(

Yeah, here in Europe they used to broadcast Smallville too, but
it\'s not on tv anymore. Too bad. Imo the premise of the story ; Superman not yet being Superman is much more interesting than,
let\'s say.... the Superman \'Lois & Clark\' tv series, starring that bulky guy.

And yes, Tom Welling is hot :smokin:

I think Smallville is great. Tom Welling is superb as Clark, and Kristin Kreuk is just so damn hot. The stories are getting more interesting as it come along, and it should be very cool when Clark discovers he can fly (season 2 finished in AU in May so I don\'t know if he knows it in season 3).

It puts an interesting spin on a franchise that was getting tired. You still can\'t go past Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher though...

Clark will never fly, most likely. The producers have said they have a "no tights, no flight" rule with the series. Just like they said there is no plans for Clark to ever don the actual Superman outfit. Seaosn Three is going to explore Clark\'s super-hearing development.

There will be small hints towards his flight though - like him floating in episode 2 of the first season. Just no actual flight.. Not to meniton, actual flight would crank the budget and effects crew way up. It\'s really not feasible at this point for the show.

It\'s a good show for all the pics and points mentioned above.  I especially like b/c Clark and Lex are friends.  Although I think the whole Bruce Wayne coming into the series is a bad idea.
