I`ve bought a few things including a PS2 and a couple of motherboards and not had any trouble.

I only tend to buy from sellers with plenty of good feedback and who have sold items very recently.

If in doubt email the seller with a question about the item, that way you can be sure they are monitoring their sale and that they are using a working email address

I\'ve bought countless items off Ebay and it\'s been good for the most part. Common sense dictates a lot of sales on Ebay. Only buy items with pictures / user with a lot of feedback and a lot of good feedback. If you buy an item that has a vague description, no picture and from a new user and you get screwed over, blame yourself.

Yeah it works great as long as you intelligently assess the risk of each transaction.  I would demand a much longer and cleaner feedback record when bidding on something for $200 than I would when bidding on something for $20.

People who say "Ebay is the DEVIL" and "I\'ll NEVER USE EBAY" are idiots.  It works fine as long as you don\'t get caught up in bidding on something that looks too good to be true.  Many of those stories come from boneheads who sent a $3,000 check to someone with no feedback.  That was his own fault, not Ebay\'s.

The key to EBAY is to bid in the last 10 seconds.

Don\'t bid on it before the very end.  You don\'t want to give people the opportunity to rebid..  FIgure out the last moment you can make a bid and rock on.

I used to buy and sell all the time.  They were a lot better before, they\'re starting to have a bit of a harder time now.  Always check feedback.  Avoid Paypal.  That\'s it.

I\'ve done a couple of $500 deals with no problems on Ebay.

Best part about eBay is buying brand spanking new mechandise at over half off retail.  The amp I want costs $999 at Crutchfield but $465 new on eBay... duhhhh which do I choose???

I mainly use the Buy It Now option, and many established stores sell their products there.

Always look at their description and feedback rating carfeully.  Don\'t be one of the goofballs that bought a $1,000 Sony 35" Wega TV BOX.

Yea, there are some people out there to trick you, but if you use your common sense, it\'s no problem. I just recently got into using the past 2 months, I\'ve purchased lots of stuff already.

Nothing wrong with Paypal either.

I love ebay, got me a $500 watch for 40 bucks, brand new and perfect condition.  If you have extra cash, just surf ebay and the closing auctions, you\'ll ALWAYS find great deals.

BTW, I\'ve bought off ebay countless times and never was screwed over.

I\'ve never understood why people bid rapidly way before the auction is done. All it does is jacking up the price... place your bid as close to the closing time as possible...

I use Paypal for almost everything and never had a problem. Not sure why Fatal would say that.
