New forum theme

Do you think we could hold a design comp or something to change the forum theme? I\'ve been here over 3 years and it hasn\'t really changed much at all accept for those sweet buttons No-One made (I think he did them anyway).

Anyway, since there is the new name etc for the main site, and the forums are supposedly going multi console, I thought it might be nice to have a change in the overall look. Nothing major, just a minor overhaul. I have some suggestions/ideas, but I am not going to start on them unless the interest is there.

well I think Aaron will be doing a complete makeover along with the forums, I don\'t know if he\'ll have a competition again or not, I\'d like to play around with the forums again.

But if I had to guess, I\'d say the forums would just have the same design as the new site.

If we could just get rid of the Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan font at the top of this page, I\'d be happy.  :)

isnt there a way u can change how it looks for just you?? im sure we could, put the forum back tohow it used to be, in the original colours etc??

Is there a special way to do this or just create an example, buttons, overview etc in Photoshop with colour layout etc?

I looked around, it looks complicated; and requries photoshop I believe. I have ideas, but I dont know how  much help I would be- I know intermediate HTML but thats it.

I just wasn\'t sure if there was some vb code template or something where everything has to be implemented and created (like create a file or something).

Are you talking about like a fill-out-form type deal? Im sure you could take the direct code from this website, and just get new colors.

Well, basically, I didn\'t know how it all works. I wasn\'t sure if there was like a form or program or something that could be used.

Like, for instance, I have seen other forums using what I presume is the same forum code or whatever (vvb or something) and they have a totally different layout etc.

At another forum I use to post at their was this thing called vBB skins.

Not sure if mm would approve, but it looks amazingly cool.

I believe it was something like http://www.gamegeneration.com or something, not sure but I dont post their anymore.

Yeah, it would be cool for a change, the forums are starting to look dated and a new look might encourage some new members.

I\'m more then willing to give a few designs ago, I just need to know how to go about it.
