« on: November 19, 2003, 11:37:28 AM »
Does anyone know if it possible to run a PS2 on a flat screen PC moniter which is also linked up to a computer. Please email me direct to jamchadw@aol.com or answer back to this forum with any ideas.

Thanks

ATI\'s All-in-Wonder. That\'s what I use when I capture stuff.

I tried it, I have a media center pc...The response to button mashing is just flat out horrable.
It\'s only funny until someone gets hurt...then it\'s hillarious.

I rather just hook it up to my tv.  I have analog flat screen tv in my bedroom and hdtv in my living room.  If i want, i can just bought component video cable and hook it up on my hdtv.  But, i rather wait till next generation console with hdtv output tha can do 1080i/720, but i believe it can easily do 1080p, but most hdtv currently doesn\'t support 1080p yet.  But give it times, 1080p will be the standard format for hd viewing.

Anybody here heard of DVI?  Well, How about HDMI?  I think it would be cool to see next generation console with HDMI.

More than likely it will just have component out like it has now.  It would take a seperate port out in the back to go DVI.  Maybe though.  It would be nice to not have any analog conversion.

And PS3 absolutely has to be HD.  I would jump right over to XBox if they blew their load again and didn\'t include HD support.

ANybody out there running on an HD system with component cables?  I am just running mine with SVideo and wondering how much of a difference I will see.

Ummm, heard of HDMI? I believe PS3 will have a HDMI port, it supports up to 5 gigabits per second.  That is more than 3x the bandwidth of DVI which max out at 1.65 gbits.  With this much bandwidth, it can carry uncompress 1080p video with uncompressed multiple 24 bits/96khz surround sound and there are still some bandwidth left while DVI max out on 1080i/720p.
