Death of Jonathan Brandis Ruled Suicide
« on: November 25, 2003, 08:23:00 AM »
LOS ANGELES - The death of 27-year-old actor Jonathan Brandis, who starred in two seasons of Steven Spielberg\'s "SeaQuest DSV," was a suicide, the county coroner\'s office said Monday.

Brandis, who died Nov. 12, hung himself, the coroner said.

Brandis started his career in commercials and on television, landing a recurring role on the soap "One Life to Live" at age 6. He also made guest appearances on "L.A. Law," "Who\'s the Boss?" and "Murder, She Wrote."

His film credits included the starring role in 1991\'s "The Neverending Story 2: The Next Chapter," the Rodney Dangerfield comedy "Ladybugs," and the martial arts comedy "Sidekicks" with Chuck Norris.

I wonder if the reason for his suicide was that he finally watched "The Neverending Story 2: The Next Chapter," and "Ladybugs."

Rodney does rule, but Ladybugs was not his best work.  :)

See "Caddyshack" and "Back to School."

Same.

Maybe these bit part yank actors do this sort of thing in order to make a name for themselves over here in the UK, due to them lacking any real talent.
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Damn, I was wondering what happened to that kid.  He had a lot going for him, not oozing with talent but he could act and he had looks.  Must have been a druggie. :crap:

Suggestion:  Know what you\'re talking about before posting something.  :)

I think quite possibly you DO know who Rodney Dangerfield is, and you just didn\'t recognize the name.  Anyone who\'s seen him would remember him.  He\'s the guy who "Can\'t get no respect."  That\'s his famous statement.

I thought it was obvious that he was talking about Jon Brandis and not Dangerfield (whose best role ever was in Natrual Born Killers).

Some article on Yahoo said that drugs is ruled out.  He didn\'t have any in his system.  It\'s very likely it\'s depression from being a child-actor.

He also played the stuttering kid in the movie version of "It".  You know, the main character.  I forget the character\'s name.
