Screens of crowds in GT4

Here are some pics from GT Prologue. The crowds at the moment are only sprite based (2D) but apparently look AMAZING. The run onto the track, take photos and cheer, and its all very fluid.

There is 3D pit crew confirmed, and hopefully by the time GT4 ships (another 5-6 months) 3D crowds will also appear.



IMO, I really think that Polyphony are keeping alot undercover and secret. I think GTP is purely a scam to shut people up about what GT4 is going to include. Considering GT3 contained wet races, it would be stupid not to include them in GT4 as well, yet they have not mentioned it or shown any screens at all! There are apparently 50 new courses (and the five included in GTP are all new tracks, which is very interesting as I would have thought they would have wanted to keep all the new tracks for the whole game if they were going to rehash old tracks, which leads me to believe they won\'t be).

But will they be as animated when you drive up to them during an actual game or is that just a clip?

yes, they are fully animated, but they are only sprites at the moment, not 3D.

They run, the wave, the clap, and the effect looks very impressive when in motion.

Is it me or is the crowd looking bigger than normal?

I wonder how did polyphony manage to make the view angle of the sprite based crowd change according to the 3D camera angle so smoothly.

What was that track in GT2 in that Swiss village, Grinderwall ? imagine snow falling on that track :eek:

My race car would end up in some Swiss living room.

Put probably I hope too much

My guess for GT4 is;

*1 new wet night race without rain.
*1 or 2 snow stages without falling snow.
*Stages with fog.
*Possible mud or water splashes in rally stages.
*Bali or Jamaican rally race (seen renders).

Snowy stage is a definate possiblity as there have been renders with snow depicted, and generally all GT renders are using game models. Considering that rally is also a bigger part in GT4, snow is just the next logical step.

There is this most amazing video doing the rounds at the moment. Its the ending vid for completing Prologue, and shows real time racing of the new Hong Kong track and a new sea side village rally race (looks like Corsica). The graphics are simply AMAZING. The Hong Kong track looks like a hi spec NFSU which is running at 60fps instead of 30!

Its obvious that they have been working on GT4 for a long time, probably before GT3 was finished (I would say there were tracks still in progress that never made the final cut).

All I can say is this game is going to be amazing.
