PSX = Da GIANT KILLER :D

It also equals the fall of gaming. When games became popular and idiot people stated playing them.
Yeah, thank god for Sony.

...not to mention the numerous defective units.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Could you elaborate on your statement, please? Are you talking about weak minded kids who go out and shoot people coz of video games and movies and songs they are exposed to?

He meant the fall of gaming because Sony sold on word of mouth, not by the games themselves.  Thus, good systems and great games not getting a chance to really shine.

wtf, when games became popular?  idiots played them.... wtf are u smoking man. Without psx, there wouldn\'t be ps2, or even the competition that’s out there now.. Sure a lot of good gaming consoles suffered from the psx, but its not because psx was crap. It was because it was good, there were many great games, and there were many shit games. But the good to the bad outweigh each other, N64 on the other hand, had more crap titles then it did good.. Thats why it got the kiddy title, it ended up a lame console. Saturn and Dreamcast on the other hand were completely underminded and were great consoles. I myself own a dc and play it more then my ps2, but i still don\'t blame psx for its demise...  Nintendo screwed up making n64 a cart system, When they were in works with sony making a cd based system. sega didn\'t bother to advertise their systems. I didn\'t see 1 single dc advert here.   Sony didn\'t make the mistakes they did, they used a better medium (compared to nintendo) and advertised their system (compared to sega) They were SMART about it.

Neo-Geo, which was highly priced and never hit the mainstream market and the N64 which was cartridge

Neogeo isn\'t a 64bit system man, it\'s a 16bit system. It did hit the mainstream, but the otherpriced carts is what killed it. The carts even carry the arcade data.
Not to be a prick, but next time try not talking out of your ass. Get your facts correct before sprouting this crap. :)

The only 64 system that snk/neogeo have released were Hyper Neo·Geo 64 arcades. Which aren\'t consoles. You can buy them here

They\'re now owned by playmore, which seem to be screwing every new release they have made.. Mslug5 is alright though, Snk vs Cap isn\'t to bad, but Samurai Shodown 5 sucks.

There were a lot of great games on PSX. Heck, GT series got more adult men to buy the system than any other game out there. It\'s now not uncommon for car magazines to have a game review on racing games, thanks to Gran Turismo. And then there\'s RE way back in 1996 (or was it \'97?). Come on, it\'s not like the other systems didn\'t get their day in the sun. They got plenty of press too.

You should blame Sega, master of bad business decisions for shooting itself. Then there\'s Nintendo, some great games but it had decided not to shed its romper room image.

Yeah i mean thats what the game industry needed.... MORE Consumers

lets face it the industry is in a piss poor state and without the casual gamers that the PSX brought to the table it would of been in a worse state by now.

So i for one say thank god for the casual gamer and their impusle buying :).
