I wonder if a title like Manhunt has made it time they start treating M-rated games like R-rated movies. Nothing fancy, just don\'t sell to minors without a parent. Same as a movie.
It comes to my mind because, after being sucked into a world as dark as the one in Manhunt... Well, it was the first time I thought, damn, little kids shouldn\'t get their hands on this one.
Maybe I\'m just getting older, heh.
The one thing I don\'t want to see is the ESA (formerly ESRB, I think the name changed...) loosen the restrictions on the Adults Only brand. Seems penetration is the only qualification for the AO rating which would make the game either illegal to sell in most shops, or at least basis to be ignored by major retailers. Not sure which...
The ESA is generous with titles like Manhunt and even BMX XXX getting only M ratings, and I think that\'s a good thing. I\'d hate to see them start labelling such titles AO and having them vanish from stores.
What do you guys think about imposing R-rated movie restrictions on M-rated games? Or maybe just ditching the E, T, M thing and switching to G, PG, PG-13, and R?
