Madden Wish List
« on: January 09, 2004, 10:38:26 AM »
Contrary to popular belief Madden 2004 lacked in so many areas it\'s a bit sickening to think about. From poor computer AI like line backers getting jammed behind DT\'s and DE\'s, to the gawd awfull presentation and commentary that was to easy to tell it was scripted. If you cant see the many flaws hindering the game then your blind. The only reason that Madden\'s the best is just that, because "compared" to others it is the best.

I know your all Madden buff\'s so if ur interested I found this website about a week ago. Madden Wishlist

Im figure most of you discovered this site before I ever did but this is a quick link for some who havent. Apparently these guys are constantly in touch with EA Sports. Go express your thoughts and opinions and lets see if 2005 will be less about the pretty visuals and more about the overall depth of the game.

EDIT: Im not around here much anymore so I hope this isnt considered advertising but if it is the mod\'s are welcome to shut er down. (erm, my thread that is)

my #1 gripe is the amount of tackles the LB\'s get is embarrasing.  Playing middle LB is no where as fun and active as it should be.  I mean Ray Lewis getting 3-5 tackles a game, I don\'t think so.  Also, the computer team usually throws 40 times a game and runs maybe 10.

Computer\'s play calling is too inconsistent.  In the early stages of the game they are very conservative.  At the end, (if they are losing) they become overly aggressive and everyone thinks there\'s a "comeback code."

Tackle animations are very weak and boring to watch.

Presentation is terrible with the exact same thing each game.

Some minor glitches such has the fade route jumper.

I personally have a great time playing madden, especially in our PSX2 Central Madden League.  Playoff time baby....... well, not for me.  :(

Well, truth be known......

Only reason I say poop on Madden is because I suck at it.

Speaking of the way the computer reacts. When I drop back to pass, I have to scan the field for an open reciever while trying to avoid a sack. The computer seems to automatically know where and when a reciever is open. So as soon as they take a snap they might immediatly gun it to they\'re tightend or something. The computer needs to be a little indecisive just like us.

Madden is off the chain even on the x-crap. I have broken the record for int\'s in a game so many times. If u lay off the qb and cover all wr, and Te man the computer will throw an int like there is no 2marrow.

I love it but I do hate how many tackles the computer get I mean man they be having like 70-90 tackes in a 5 minute game on 16weeks impossible.

NFL2K4 is the next best thing out there.

presentation is another bad part, there\'s no build up for the playoffs or superbowl.  I\'d also like to hear something like "After coming of their big win last week against the *enter team* they\'re looking to make *number* wins in a row" or something that gives you the feeling that the announcers have some idea as to what is happening in the season.

Yea, there comes a time you have to overlook the gameplay and ask urself, is it really that fun playing the game if everytime *insert noname here* is having a particullarly good game and John Madden spurts out about how great the player is even though he sucks. Al Micheals sounds halfway convincing at times, I guess we\'ll just have to wait for next generation systems so more complex commentary is capable.

The ending commentary of games really needs an uplift.  All you get basically "Well folks thats the end of the game" *insert score here* then a couple of players waiving they\'re helments in the air and what not.  How bout put a little more depth into that including players shaking hands after the game and tv camera crews around.

If EA doesnt get off their big corprate ego\'s and really revamp this series, ESPN is going to swallow them up...and for some reason I really hope they do. Atleast they look at all areas of the game instead of what pleases them.

They still need work on the secondary but i think they did a great job dealing with the bombs. People in the league couldnt take that they couldnt rely on TO for 400 yards recieving. But they do have some minor graphical things, and mainly the secondary reacting more realistic.

A small but important thing i want fixed is the camera angle. The wideouts for me are useless because if i cant see my reciever theres no way in hell im gunna throw it (online). But other than that its the one game im able to play as much as i do, but without the league i dont think id play it that much.

I havnt tried espn but i dont like how the players look in the screenshots, plus its not like i hate madden and we have the best league around, minding the few douches we get as owners but thats fixable.

Espn has tons of flaws. Tackling is horrible. Especially against a power back he will just run all over you.  At least sega has enough since to know that the half-time show is part of the NFL.

I would have to say madden is much better. Freestyle give you so much more control of the game it\'s awesome. And i love setting high ticket prices:D
