No i haven\'t been drinking Acetone ...again :(.

I really want a X box now.. Thanks to Jade Empire, Halo 2,Knights of the old republic 2 & esp...Fable.

But i don\'t know whichs the best deal ?

What i could do is either
Quote

option 1)

Get just a second hand X box for £94..no games... no box... just shrinked rapped.

Pro\'s
Its the cheapest option

Con\'s
No games
Don\'t know the units history (so it scould of taken a beating and about to fail).

Or

Quote

option 2)

Get just a second X box from GAME = proce range  £12 to £240..Price varys due to whats packeged with the console

Pro\'s
Could get 1 or 2 decent games with a cheap comnsole

Con\'s
The game selection is limited to the packs

or

Quote

option 3)

New X box from GAME + plus one game for £149.98

game list to 1 chose from.
  • Need for Speed Underground
  • Project Gotham Racing 2
  • FIFA 2004
  • Grand Theft Auto Double Pack
  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Rainbow Six 3
  • True Crime Streets of LA

Pro\'s
Nice selection of games to chose from
Peace of mind (new console plus warrenty)

Con\'s
The most expensive "base Line" option... other than the "pre-owned" bundels

Give Jumpman some money. I DON\'T OWN A DVD PLAYER HOW SAD IS THAT.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

ooseven,

Go out and buy a new Xbox with Halo.  You have to experience Halo.   Why buy a new Xbox?  Because some of the old DVD drives can\'t load the new games.  The old Xbox is giving lots of DDE.   Get the new Xbox with the version 1.5 DVD Samsung drive.

3 DVD drives was made,

Thomson
Philips
Samsung

Check the Manufacturing list.

Xbox Hardware Database
http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/docs/versionsdb.html

My 12/01 Thomson Xbox was giving me lots of DVD drive problems.  It couldn\'t load most of my new games.   About 3 months ago I went out and got a new Xbox that came with a Samsung Drive.   Also the Samsung drive don\'t scratches the edge of the disc.

Here how my Samsung tray looks.  The Samsung tray will have holes.

Ok, This is also how you know what drive you have.

Left = Philips
Mid = Thomsom
Right = Samsung

Thanks Pstwo...

i knew of the Old Hard Drive and DVD drive problem with new games over at the Fable Forum.

Thinking of trading in 4 or 5 old PS2 games (that i have completed) to get the Xbox with Halo pack.

Or i might just pay £10 to 20 more so that i can get Knights of the old republic.

What\'s next?

mm pre-ordering The Matrix Trilogyon DVD?
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I\'d put it in my top 5 list of RPGS...maybe even top 3.  It\'s one of the few rpgs that lets you actually play a role, what an idea!  Damn near completely open ended, and you can be eeeeevil *starts to force choke kopking

Well the only issue I\'ve ever had w/the drive in my box is that 1 out of every 3 or 4 times I insert HALO it gives me that non/dirty disc error.  It\'s never done that on another game though.  And it looks like I have the Samsung drive from the pics pstwo posted.
